Mr. Glenn has over thirty years of experience in database and data warehouse development. These span on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments. He is experienced in enterprise level design and integration. Including designing/developing data systems that ingest, transform, and provide points of consumption (example: reports, analytics, downstream processes) for the enterprise. He has filled roles from Director of Engineering at start-ups to individual contributor of projects. His experience spans Retail enterprises, HealthCare, Financial and Insurance organizations. His experience includes expertise on multiple RDBMS and semi- structured data systems on multiple operating systems.

Working as team lead or as an individual contributor he has organized and led projects to successful conclusions, within timelines and budget. Mr. Glenn has worked with several development methodologies, most recently with Agile.

Professional Experience

Illumination Works, LLC (Date: 09/12/2022 -March 30, 2025)

Migrate XML data from an on-premise MS SQL platform to a relational model on cloud-based Snowflake platform.

Developed migration solution, including project roadmap, data transformation, transfer and validation.

Developed a reporting system that offered end users a simple interface to design reports from a highly complex data set.

Data Lead on a migration project that moved an ETL and data-mart solution composed of Teradata and Informatica to Azure SQL and ADF.

Senior Database Architect

Data modeler and architect for the Health Consumer Communications group (Marketing Campaigns for Health Monitoring and Communication devices).

Worked with the EDW group to identify sources and ensure all interfacing systems followed established policies.

Performed analysis on the existing MS SQL data mart used for marketing.

Designed a replacement MS SQL database, ETL source pipelines and data transfer for the marketing group’s new Salesforce Marketing Cloud installation.

Designed the Salesforce Marketing Cloud data extensions to accept the new data.

oMy effort included design recommendations and documentation for the new Snowflake based data warehouse.

oThe first set of marketing emails were sent after only three months of development.

oSubsequent marketing campaigns followed at a pace of 1 -2 per month.

oA verification system removed badly formed emails and corrected others.

oLogging allowed manual fixes and updates to the system filters to automate subsequent occurrences.

oAgile team management was supported by JIRA and Confluence

Architect of Waypoint’s next generation data platform.

Re-engineered legacy enterprise using a new technology platform.

Included ETL pipelines, staging and transformation database (transactional) and a data warehouse (dimensional).

Led team evaluations to select the technology for the new data platform.

Worked with multiple business areas to identify needs, prioritize them, and define the roadmap to product delivery.

Designed processes to integrate legacy and new databases as part of the overall migration plan.

The legacy system was AWS MariaDB, and the new platform was Snowflake on AWS.

AWS PostgreSQL supported internal backend processing and was also evaluated for use as the data warehouse.

oRe-designed the processes that downloaded transformed and loaded YouTube usage data to use Googles Developer API suite and Python to capture the YouTube data.

oThis resulted in a 75% faster runtime and a 5% increase in accuracy.
