I would like a position specific to my work experience either in endoscopy, dialysis, home health, outpatient surgery, urgent care or med. surg. A clerical position at this stage of my life would be suitable also. I plan and hope to utilize my skills and knowledge to their fullest capacity as a nursing professional. AREA OF EXPERTISE:
I currently have a background in hemodialysis- chronic and acute, subacute setting. I have a past background in post opt surgery, dialysis, home health, med. surg, endoscopy, oncology, ER triage, ENT, apheresis and NICU. But currently I am doing subacute hemodialysis. Prior to becoming an RN I worked 23 years as a LPN in endoscopy. I currently work as a dialysis charge nurse PRN for Nova Dialysis in the Virginia and Maryland areas doing subacute dialysis in a 9-10 chair unit. I administer medication, adjust dry weights as needed with the Nephrologist, do admissions, nursing assessments, care plans, labs, etc.
March 2023 to July 2023- I worked as a PD nurse for Davita- Worked with multiple patients doing various PD therapy and patient teaching.
July 2023 to Jan 2024- I worked for Augusta Health in the outpatient surgical pavilion. I worked with patients recovering from outpatient EGD’s, Colonoscopies, cataract surgery, epidural surgery, ortho- outpatient surgery. I would assist with patient recovery. I provided discharge instructions and supplies needed post-surgery for patients. July 2023- Oct 2021- I worked PRN as a second job at Dialysis care clinics doing chronic dialysis. This was a 12-chair unit, and I worked the evening shift with 2 shifts. I did assessments, coordinated the unit, scheduled access appointments as needed. I would do medication administration and use Meditech for daily charting and care plans. I did admissions as well and labs.
July 2019 to Oct 2022- Work at Mount Sinai Hospital in a chronic dialysis unit. I would do patient assessments per and post treatments, administered medications. Assisted with patient initiation of treatments and termination of treatments. I worked the evening shift. Did daily charting on Meditech and care plans as needed. July 2017 to Oct 2019- Worked for RenPro dialysis as a charge nurse in a 6-chair unit performing the duties of the charge unit. I’d do per and post patient assessments. I would report to my unit Manager and two Nephrologists. We ran 3 shifts for the day MWF. I would do labs monthly and PRN. I would help schedule access appointments. I did monthly charting and daily charting as well as admissions. I made sure the unit stayed well stocked with supplies. I also made sure that the unit was well stocked at the end of the shift and that it was cleaned and all trash emptied.
Oct 2017 to July 2019- You will see my work resume overlap on occasions because I would sometimes be working two jobs. I worked in a 6-chair unit for Circle Medical Management. This was a subacute setting with one technician. We ran 2 shifts, and I would help with putting patients on treatments and when treatments were completed. I would do medication administration, admissions, rounding with the doctor, ordering and drawing labs, as well as water checks.
March 2016 to Oct 2017- Worked with Concerto Renal Services as a dialysis charge nurse in an 11-chair unit. I performed routine nursing duties doing patient assessments, medication administration, rounding with MD and dry weight adjustments, drawing labs monthly and PRN. I occasionally would do access appointments as needed. Jan 2015 to March 2016- I worked as a new graduate at Advocate South Suburban hospital. We had two nurses on duty, and I worked mainly as a technical staff member helping put patients on and take them off once their treatment was completed. I would assist with medication administration; I did PD once in awhile when needed also with in-house admitted patients. I did my daily and monthly charting as well as labs for the patients per MD order.
May 2013 to Dec 2015: I worked for Fresenius (FMC) at Merrionette Park clinic with 18 chairs. I did my routine dialysis nursing duties of medication administration, assessments pre and post treatment, access evaluations, labs as ordered and needed, daily charting, equipment care unit organization and coordination daily. I reported to my unit manager an two Nephrologist.
June 2011 to Dec 2011- I moved to Ohio and transferred into a Fresenius unit of 24 chairs. I moved to help my grandson who was born prematurely. Here I coordinated a 12-16 chair unit. I would always have 1 pod with 3 patients, and we did 2 shifts. I would pass medications. Did assessments, labs as needed and all other routine dialysis nursing duties.
May 2009 to June 2011- Worked at South Chicago dialysis in a 28-chair unit. I performed nursing duties doing assessments, medications administration, access assessments, access appointment scheduling PRN, water checks, equipment care and etc. July 2008 to Jan 2009- Worked for Advocate South Suburban Hospital on the 4th floor in Med. Surg. I was a new graduate, and I did routine nursing duties, admissions, discharges, transfers, medication, administrations and daily charting, care plans etc. We cared for all types of surgical patients with the assistance of CNAs. Prior to all this I worked as an LPN for 23 years and will be glad to discuss it with you further during an interview.
