Obtain patient demographic information, insurance benefits and eligibility. Obtain signature on legal documents and insurance forms. Obtain patient information from family members and legal guardians if patient is unable to communicate. Admit the patient to the appropriate unit within the hospital per the order. Assign the correct medical record and account number for patient. Responsible for obtaining complete and accurate demographic and financial information from a variety of sources. Enter data in the computer and thoroughly document any incomplete admissions and registrations in manner prescribed. Answer phone and update patient file. Notify patient, family members of any co-payments, deductibles and balances that need to be paid. Maintain customer service at all times and report any unresolved issues to the Supervisor. Maintain multiple computer functions.
