Plan, develop, and monitor the Quality control section activities including, providing technical support and advice on QA/QC and best practices on industry matters associated with design, maintenance, turnaround, and inspection of new and existing to support the department and the division in ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Ensure that all inspection requirements have been fulfilled satisfactorily according to the final approved drawing/documents and supplier quality plan.

Manage and supervise all contractor’s QA/QC Engineers and QC inspectors during major Projects and shutdowns.

Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the section to achieve the department objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring the implementation of approved operational plans for the section in line with department objectives.

Has regular contact, at all levels from supervisor to Team Leader/Manager level in the inspection department, Plant Maintenance Division, Plant operation Division Engineering Division, Procurement Division, and HSE Division,

To visit the work site daily to check whether all the works, materials, and equipment are in accordance with the QA/QC program, project drawing, and specification. If not, immediate action is to be taken to correct them like raising NCR, Logbook entry, etc.

Working with the Projects Department in finalizing/ensuring the appropriate welding procedures.

Preparation and reviewing of ITP & test procedures.

Analyze the criticality levels of Long Lead Items & Short Lead Items verify the inspection levels.

Reviews of material / purchase requisitions (MR/PR) and give quality inputs.

Reviews of technical bid evaluation (TBE) and giving quality inputs.

Attending Pre inspection Meeting (PIM) and minutes preparation.

Review of vendor documents like ITP, Test procedures, WPS & PQR etc.

Preparation of weekly and monthly quality reports.

TPI CV evaluation and assigning them for source inspection.

TPI inspection report & vendor inspection document review.

Ensure product release after inspection release note issued from TPI/QG as per approved ITP

Witness mechanical tests related to PQR at laboratories. Such like (Tensile test, Bend Test, Hardness test, Macro test, Charpy ‘V’ notch impact test, Chemical Analysis, corrosion test Etc...).

Material inspection of Pipes, plates, valves, fittings, flanges, bolt & nut, gaskets etc. of different materials like Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel, Inconel & Monel etc.

Witness the FAT test, Leak test of HPU, (Hydraulic Power Unit), Accumulator rack, wireline interface panel, Sampling cabinets and valve testing

Witnessing Pressure Testing (Pneumatic & Hydrostatic) activities, Blowing and Draining Activities, vacuum test, helium leak test and review the charts and reports

Reinstatement Walk down and preparation of punch lists.

Review the manufacturer record book (MRB) index in the initial stage for approval and compile dossier as per approved MRB index

Dimensional stability to AFC drawing, Materials spec, heat numbers, mechanical properties to drawing and material test certificate.

Ensure the materials are handled / stored and preserved as per approved procedures and the issue/receive the materials and traceability are maintained.

Ensuring Alloy verification by Conducting PMI for base metals & filler metals.

Verification of isometric drawing with respect to P&ID & ensure the AFC piping isometric is in place with current revision.

Preparation of weld maps for piping isometric drawings.

Ensure edge preparations are carried out and the bevel is clean and the bevel angle is checked prior to fit-up as per QCP/ITP.

Ensure ISO spool fit-up is carried out and the fit up is made by competent pipe fitters. Ensure the pipe fitter has the right tools.

Ensure no excess miss-alignment is allowed and the root gap and the geometrical parameters are ensured as per AFC drawing, code and AFC WPS.

Ensure Sub-assembly and final dimensional inspections by the approved drawing.

Witnessing Pre-heating if applicable.

Monitoring & recording welding parameters during welding as per WPS

Carry out visual inspection for root and final weld.

Monitor PWHT operation, review charts and reports if applicable.

Ensure hardness after PWHT to confirm the adequacy of PWHT and do RT & MT if specified.

Ensure welding of Tie-in golden joints as per requirements.

Ensure the erected pipelines/piping/structures/equipment’s all as per applicable code/specification.

Witness of alignment, orientation and dimensions of installed Piping.

Witnessing of alignment, orientation and dimensions check of Mechanical Equipment’s during installation and final alignment.

Ensure the pipe spools are handled as per procedure and without damage.

Carry out line walk down & preparation of punch list & test limits.

Preparation of test packs for pressure testing as per procedures.

Assure that all joints are exposed for examination during pressure test.

Ensuring vents are opened when filling and draining lines & line isolated with blinds as per the drawing.

Witness pneumatic test, hydro test, vacuum test, helium leak test and review the charts and reports.

Confirm repairs, re-testing and re-inspection in accordance with specifications.

Ensure the punch list is done and punch listed is attended properly.

Inspection of gaskets, supports, valves prior to line reinstatement acceptance as per latest drawings for construction, code and specification standards.

Ensure bolt torque is carried out at flanged joints as per procedure.

Co-ordinate with commissioning activities & Clearing of MCC (Mechanical Completion certificate) items.

Ensure a final piping line checks are carried out and all the valves open/close positions are done in co-ordination with Commissioning Engineer. This shall be ensured that all piping lines with correct ratings are available – ready for commissioning.

Coordinating and monitoring of NDT activities in site inspection of welding.

Review and interpretation of NDT reports and acceptance of welds as per ASME SEC V, B31.3, API 1104, AWS D1.1 (RT, MPT, PT, UT, RTFI).

Preparing NDE personnel matrix.

Inspection of nonmetallic piping & tank works.

Qualification of NDT personnel as per ASNT-SNT – TC – 1A.

Doing inspections related to HVAC works.

Having experience & knowledge in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW, GMAW, & Welding process.

Inspections done in alignment of crane rails, crane girder alignment, rail alignment and rail bolt torque etc...

Inspections carried out on equipment’s and tanks like storage vessel, scrubber, compressor, fan, silo, stack, metering skid, knock out drum, flare, heaters etc...

All the results of the inspections and tests are reported on a daily basis and the reports are reviewed and approved to the applicable code and to the customer specifications. Any deviations shall be documented and resolved.

Quality records shall be compiled in a test pack or called Quality Control Test Pack and submitted for final approval along with as built-drawing. DECLARATION
