With a rolling inventory of around $900,000, key parts have been identified being required on-hand. This eliminates the long lead times for these items and allows for less than one day repairs around 90 % of the time. Rather than keeping an inventory of all parts, preferred vendors were identified that could supply parts either same day or next day with no shipping costs. Using this method the repair and maintenance budget has been reduced from approximately $950,000 to approximately $750,000

Safety is a key cornerstone of the operation. Training and enforcement of the safety policies reduced recordable incidents to 2 since starting and 0 over the last two and a half years.

Environmental and safety regulations thru the local municipal authorities, OSHA, regional DEP and EPA groups are also coordinated thru the department. All yearly permits required for operation are up to date and all filings have been made (air permits, community right to know, fire permits, waste water analysis, storm water monitoring, emergency response planning, lock out tag out requirements, boiler permits).
