Electro Mechanical Engineer, Alstom Movia R151 / P-Way Construction Engineering, Singapore, Singapore
The new train is arriving our depot. I join the coupler using the socket joint for the coupling connection. It is important to do this properly and securely. Any new train defects and damages must be reported. I will inform the next level management about any issues. This is my scope of work for train delivery.
The train preparation involves coupling the gangway, installing the jumper cables, current collector devices, checking the condition and voltage of the battery cells, and monitoring the water levels. CONTACT

The phases of "Train testing and Commissioning" usually involve certifying the safety, functionality and readiness of a train or railway system before it is put into service.
Testing; This includes examinations of parts of the train, like brakes, propulsion systems, doors and safety mechanisms. Testing can occur in a controlled setting (like a test facility) as, in real life situations.
After all tests have been conducted and any issues resolved the train or railway system is prepared for service. This includes declaring that the system is set for operation and meets all required safety and regulatory criteria.
Real world Trials; Use the test track. Occasionally, trains or systems might undergo testing in operating conditions to ensure their performance aligns with expectations during regular operations. Ensuring Safety: During the testing and commissioning phases, prioritizing safety is crucial. Conducting a range of safety assessments and obtaining certifications is a practice to confirm that the train or system complies with all safety regulations.
In essence, testing and commissioning trains play a role in guaranteeing the dependability, safety, and effectiveness of railway systems prior to their operational deployment.
Let's look into the elements; let's explore if mistakes made by people, such as maintenance methods or improper handling, might have played a role in the problem.
We are conducting all the testing and commissioning witnessed by LTA.
TCMS means Train Control and also Keeping An Eye On System which is an essential part in modern-day railway systems. It's in charge of regulating plus checking different facets of train procedures, consisting of rate control, stopping, grip as well as diagnostics. I uploaded the current software versions and collected the data for my part of the work.

Works Train Operator, Land Transport Authority (LTA)/ P-Way Construction, Singapore, Singapore
I support the LTA locomotive operator on the Thomson East Coast Line Stage 3 from Mount Pleasant to Gardens by the Bay. Run Electric Locomotives: Operate electric locomotives securely according to established procedures, signals, and operating protocols. Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures specific to electric mobility and operations, including adherence to speed limits, signaling systems, and track conditions. Battery Management: If applicable, monitor and manage onboard battery systems, including charging and discharging operations. Communicate with Control Centers: Maintain communication with dispatchers, control centers, and other railway personnel to receive instructions, updates, and information regarding track conditions and operations, with specific attention to electrical system status. Operations Control Center, Siemens / Advanced
Infrastructure Engineering Pvt, Singapore, Singapore At the Downtown Line with Bombardier Movie C951 trains, my role at the operations control center involves monitoring and controlling train movements on the Test Track after modifications have been made. Additionally, I oversee the changing of direction for the point machine.
July 2015 - March 2018
Technician, DTL Rolling Stock, Bombardier
Transportation/ Advanced Infrastructure, Singapore, Singapore
It is my first working experience on the MRT line with Bombardier Movie C951 trains.
The Bogie assembly and dismantling work involves changing and lifting the Bogie frame, changing the axle box bearing seal cap, and modifying the seal cap guide pin welding.
Battery charging and discharging work involves monitoring battery cell voltage and checking the distilled water level. Alignment: Ensure proper alignment of the coupler with the corresponding coupler on another railcar or locomotive. Misalignment can lead to coupling issues and potentially unsafe conditions. Functional Testing: Periodically test the functionality of the Front automatic coupler by coupling and uncoupling with compatible railcars or locomotives. Verify that the coupler engages and disengages smoothly without any issues.
Replacement of Worn Parts: Replace any worn or damaged components of the front automatic coupler promptly to maintain its effectiveness and safety. This may include worn knuckles, draft gear, or other parts.
Regular Inspections: Conduct visual inspections of the compressor unit, hoses, fittings, and connections to check for any signs of leaks, damage, or wear. Address any issues promptly.
Oil Level Check: If your compressor is oil-lubricated, regularly check the oil level and top it up as needed. Also, change the oil according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Safety Valve Inspection: Test the safety relief valve periodically to ensure it functions correctly in case of overpressure situations. Replace the valve if it shows signs of wear or damage. Inspect Valves and Fittings: Regularly inspect valves, fittings, and gauges for any signs of leaks, damage, or wear. Replace any faulty components as needed.
