Akamai Technologies, Director of Operational Audit and Analysis 2003 – 2004

Oversaw the annual SOX 404 compliance project and various special projects for this $1.5B internet services company. Recruited and trained audit staff and reported directly to the VP Finance. Developed a new SOX control testing model, resulting in a 50% reduction in the number of cycles and controls. Implemented the company's inaugural comprehensive business resumption plan.

Sappi Fine Paper North America, Director of Internal Audit 2001 – 2003

In charge of Internal Audit for North American region of this $1.4B global paper manufacturer, reporting to the Corporate CAE, division CFO, CEO, and Audit Committee. Oversaw audit planning, operational audits, special projects, and fraud investigations. Additionally, led a significant fraud investigation and audit of a $10 million cost overrun in a $90 million construction project at a major paper mill, led an internal and external audit/consulting team, resulting in substantial operational and control improvements.
