December 2023 – Present

• Collaborate with program specialists to develop implementation procedures and documentation for NWSS projects that involve all US regions and territories. Together with all units in NWSS, we won the Excellence in Partnering Award - Domestic for NCEZID in 2024.

• Coordinate with the NWSS engagement team, project officers, and SMEs to provide program advice to state departments.

• Developed an Excel tracker for influenza A (H5) and collaborated with NWSS data and epidemiology teams to collect H5-related activity information from all jurisdictions that match with Palantir (DCIPHER/current 1CDP) data records.

• Developed Salesforce Technical Assistance (TA) module Standard Operating Procedures for RRRSB. Improved the Salesforce TA platform to capture and monitor NWSS email communication between jurisdictions, project officers, SMEs, and leadership.

• Entered, compiled, and cleaned 7 years (2012–2018) of Mississippi Adult Blood Lead Epidemiology and Surveillance (ABLES) data using Excel, creating a comprehensive Excel database. Conducted preliminary reviews of the dataset and used SAS for data validation to ensure quality.

• Submitted 2 years of Mississippi occupational health indicators data to NIOSH and successfully assisted MSDH in submitting 3 years of Mississippi ABLES data to NIOSH for the first time.

• Conducted epidemiological studies using ABLES data (focusing on blood lead levels of Mississippi working adults) and presented findings at MSDH meetings and the NIOSH Occupational Health meeting.

• Analyzed BRFSS data focusing on Mississippi smokers by type of occupation and industry. Presented the Mississippi BRFSS smokers study and analysis results in the Poster Session at the 2019 Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) conference, winning the CSTE Outstanding Poster Award in 2019.

• Wrote a research grant proposal titled “Mississippi Occupational Heat-Related Injuries” and obtained IRB approval for the research. Successfully received a research award of

$13,500 from the Central Appalachian Regional Education and Research University of Kentucky.
