Provide expert information technology consultant services on specific tasks for Air Mobility Command (AMC) Networks Division. Assisted AMC, the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) and all AMC base Network Control Centers (NCCs) with the development of planning documentation, acquisition support, engineering, and coordination of activities involving the four components of MAJCOM Enterprise Network (core services, network services, desktop services, and functional systems). Wrote the NIPRNET 5-Year Roadmap for the AMC Enterprise, which is currently in staff coordination. Identified emerging technology for AMC to include infrastructure upgrades for the enterprise which currently supports 85,000 users at 12 dispersed locations around the United States. Served as a member of the Capability Based Planning team for the C4IO NetCentric team. Wrote a business case analysis on enterprise storage; clearly articulated the way ahead on Storage Area Network (SAN) solution and vendor. Results: Currently supports 85,000 active e-mail accounts and is by far the largest consolidated e-mail effort to date in the US Air Force. Designed, evaluated, integrated, and implemented standard computer and network hardware for the Wing Command Control System (WCCS), a $300M worldwide command and control system that supports the wing commander’s mission. Designed and managed WCCS implementations, from site survey through wing commander’s acceptance of the system. Led integrated hardware/software teams from six disciplines supporting eight military bases involved with Bosnia, the Persian Gulf, and other global locations. Results: Provided critical software/information tools to the customer ahead of schedule and within budget during a three-year high-operations period. Supervised time critical hardware installations at Elmendorf AFB, AK, which enabled the Wing to easily pass Pacific Air Force evaluation. Directed a large site survey team for a classified multi-million dollar automated system at two locations in Korea. Engineered a network solution that included the purchase of over $6M of network hardware equipment supporting 80 command and control facilities and 200 nodes. Results: Allowed units to meet war-time readiness by increasing flying rates by 60%. Supervised the transition of the WCCS SPO to Hanscom AFB, MA by managing all aspects of the transfer from equipment, documentation, to turn-in of furnishings; completed one month ahead of the schedule and within budget identified. Served as sole engineer during a 4-month WCCS installation in the United Kingdom by molding an aggressive, goal-oriented team out of 24 personnel from six disciplines.
