NAEP conduct studies of U.S. Education and began in 1969 assessing about a million students over forty nine (49) years. I obtained my position through a company Called Westat which is funded by the Federal Government and a subcontractor for NAEP. The Assessment Coordinator will be responsible for transporting and setting up the NAEP tablets as well as administering and monitoring the assessment, with the Assessment Administrators (AA’s) assistance. Generally, 50 students are selected for the assessment and are assessed in two (2) consecutive groups of twenty five (25) students. In this study NAEP will be assessing 4th and 8th graders.
A typical assessment day is divided into three (3) parts:
• Activities before the assessment;
• Activities during the assessment; and
• Activities after the assessment.
