Objective:

I have taken on a variety of roles in the education field. In addition to my 19 years of experience as a classroom teacher, I have partaken in a variety of leadership roles. Some of those leadership roles have consisted of Science Liaison, ESOL Chairperson, Social Committee Chairperson, Grade Level Chairperson. I have worked with children ranging from the age of 3 up until 18 years as well as leading workshops for my colleagues to provide professional development opportunities for them. I have been working as a classroom teacher for 19 years in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. I have had experience administering FLKR-S, DIBELS, and F.A.I.R. assessments to students ranging from kindergarten through second grade. Other responsibilities included updating the Educational Plans for Gifted second graders. My responsibilities extend outside the classroom. I served as Chairperson of the Social Committee for five years; served as the Grade Level Chairperson for one year; Science Liaison for two years; ESOL Chairperson for two years; and assisted the principal and EESAC Chairperson with the writing of the School Improvement Plan. As a result of my achievements, inside and outside of the classroom, I represented my school as the 2010 Teacher of the Year.
