Outside operator for Polyacrylamide emulsion in water-soluble polymers. Outside Operator’s responsibility is to assist the Board Operator in polymerization of Emulsion. This includes activities taking place in all Production Process Tanks and their respective areas. Monitors and adjust the production process and equipment for quality and productivity. Made necessary operating adjustments via instrumentation, equipment, or chemical additions to maintain product specifications. Worked daily with Acids, Caustic, Urea and many raw materials in dissolution tanks, vacuum reactor catalyst system, acidification tanks, trouble-shoot catalyst system, raw materials unloading and loading into and from bulk trucks, railcars, bulk-containers. Lock out Tag out of down-stream and up-stream process regularly and return to service. Perform minor mechanical maintenance. Write work-orders, collect hazardous and nonhazardous samples for. Assist supervisors with production progress and changeover reports to the management team. Participate in safety drills, compliance task, quality improvement, GMP daily. Assist during routine maintenance and cleaning of the production equipment.

Graham Packaging Co. Hammond, LA Operator November 2020 - December2020

Operated Polyethylene blow molding machines and in-line injection equipment for production of containers. 12-hour shift work. Monitor HDPE/PET resin dryer, material handling and color systems for appropriate processing conditions. Follows quality GMP practices and procedures. Assists in mold, insert and color changes on the production line. Lock out Tag out of down-stream and up-stream process. (This position was short term because the plant was temporarily shut down)

Outside operator PolyEthylene, industrial refrigeration, raw materials purification, knowledgeable in reactor catalyst, furnace operations, devolatization, recycle systems. Training was conducted with IPT(in plant training) documents and walk-throughs with training coordinator. Certification within first 90 days of plant utilities, MRU(mechanical refrigeration unit) then designated area. Three-month reviews scheduled to explain, draw the process, equipment. Must describe in detail changes in pressure and temperature for each section along with the “why factor”. Lock out Tag out regularly and return to service. Perform daily and monthly operation rounds, write work-orders, collect hazardous and non-hazardous samples for laboratory. Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment safely and efficiently. Participate in safety drills, compliance task, quality improvement. Strong knowledge of plant utilities and safety. Had a 2-month turnaround in my designated area, learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Including: rotating shift schedule with holidays, plant maintenance programs, monitoring cooling tower and air compressors for proper operation, unloading rail cars and tractor trailers, unloading catalyst cylinders for reactor operation. Following daily procedures thoroughly, EHS/Critical procedures, transferring raw materials via totes or day tanks. Worked well with fellow employees on task involving physical labor in stressful situations and the confidence to work alone. I have responded to emergencies as part of an emergency response team. Installing copper/stainless-steel tubing from catalyst cylinder directly to reactor using IPD’s as reference. Pad/De-Pad to clear a line or lines.
