Some Key Accomplishments
Circuit design, PCB layout and board bring-up for over 100 PCBs at Aurora Enterprises in Protel (became Altium)of various products (some of which were for Bally Gaming on a sole source contract). Worked with and directed numerous assembly shops to ensure production for precision and quality.
Developed architecture and engineered working electronic prototype of a bartop skill machine which complied with US Pat No. 7,192,346.
Ensured compliance with standards of the Choctaw Nation Gaming Commission in testing and approval by Eclipse Compliance Testing.
Maintained Q Clearance while serving as an Arming and Firing Engineer during nuclear tests at the Nevada Test Site for Livermore Labs.
Secured financing and partnered with an investor after co-designing an innovative algorithm which allowed large awards to the player while still remaining profitable to the operator. (US Pat No. 5,380,008) leading to the company’s listing on NYSE ( Spintek International).
Directed multi-million-dollar projects for Page Communications as Task Controller for physical plant within the INTS program, managing operations in NE 1/6 of Iran.
Designed and showcased a prototype downhole water quality monitor and recorder at the National Water Well Conference; recruited by DTECH to deliver a $1M funding presentation and engineer the systems architecture for in-tank non-invasive ultrasonic leak detection probes.
Wrote and filed disclosures for four US patents which were granted and co-authored a fifth; provided expert testimony strategy in patent litigation, including a case resulting in a $20M award to the client for IGT.
Co-founded a company (P.I.Kaiser) specializing in progressive meter systems using incandescent and later RGB LED digital displays. Did the engineering design of the electronics and sales to US and international companies (Bally Gaming).
Spearheaded system upgrades to LED technology, designed and sold to Bally Gaming one of the first in-game RGB LED meters on a casino floor, and negotiated a sole-source contract with Bally.
Pioneered a retrofit kit to convert electromechanical slot machines to microprocessor-controlled games as Project Engineer and part-owner, successfully launching sales to the Sun Casino Group in South Africa.
Professional Experience
Aurora Enterprises – Las Vegas, NV
Chief Engineer & Owner
1995 — Present
Led multiple projects as Chief Electrical Engineer, overseeing all hardware and much of the software/firmware design concepts for company products. Directed daily business operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational excellence. Partnered with contract manufacturers to supply product hardware, negotiating sole-source supplier contracts to streamline production and delivery. Performed the development of a gaming machine for use in Oklahoma, achieved testing and approval from a certified gaming machine testing laboratory through diligent interfacing and coordination. Completed numerous PCB layout and debugging projects, incorporating Atmel and Microchip microprocessors to enhance product functionality. Integrated Bluetooth technology into various designs for remote monitoring applications, expanding product capabilities. Managed production interfacing with contract assembly shops, ensuring displays were manufactured and delivered in full compliance with purchase order specifications.
Key Contributions:
Designed and manufactured in-game displays for gaming machines integrated into major companies' Wide Area Networks, ensuring seamless functionality and reliability.
Engineered and packaged hardware for game engines, optimizing design for performance and production efficiency.
Engineered and designed skill-based machine for the tavern amusement industry, securing test lab approvals for compliance.
Authored and debugged C-code for drivers and proof-of-concept applications, driving efficient software integration.
Designed, prototyped, and tested a remotely accessed device to monitor slope and rock stability in mining operations, advancing safety and efficiency standards.
Designed architecture and specified components for a modular unattended fueling system for the motor vehicle industry in which modules were to be communicating by ZIGBEE. Successfully transferred the preliminary design for completion to engineers in Poland.
Created a prototype link progressive meter system using CAN bus protocol for a leading overseas gaming company, meeting advanced operational and reliability specifications.
Liaised with cross-disciplinary engineers in mechanical, electronic, and programming fields to deliver integrated and innovative solutions.
