Client: Valeo, Troy Michigan, Location: Nissan Technical Center System Test Engineer Project: IVC product (Telematics Control Unit) April 2022 – till date

Description: The IVC (In-Vehicle Component) is a telematics control unit embedded in the vehicle, enabling wireless connectivity to cloud services or other vehicles via V2X standards over a cellular network. Key features include remote services, tow and stolen vehicle tracking, E-Call, B-Call, C-Call, automatic collision notification, remote vehicle status, SMS, geo-fencing alerts, digital video recording, GNSS, GPS, and navigation map updates.

Roles and Responsibilities:As a System Test Engineer, I am responsible for testing Valeo IVC products in NissanVehicle& Test Benches

Setting up the validation bench, executing test cases, capturing data logs, and debugging the IVC products in Nissan Vehicles

Bootstrapping/service activation, supplier feed, MQTT stability, and UID functional checks.

Performance assessments, including response times to service requests, call stability, and connection strength during long-distance driving and live tests.

Configuration of the unit for staging and production, along with debugging, logging, and troubleshooting.

Support issue analysis in collaboration with the vNext team, including ticket creation, issue escalation, and collaboration with development teams in Japan, China, and the EU as necessary.

Develop python scripts for automation testing using python binding interfaces (Update DID’s, DTC’s, CAN signals)

Collecting various logs, including modem logs (ELT), QXDM logs, Ethernet logs, TCU logs, and CAN logs based on testing issues.

Testing MQTT connection and disconnection statuses in both TCU and IVI systems.

Simulating calls, including Automatic Collision Notification (ACN) and Emergency Call (E-Call) testing for Xcal and ECal, along with testing of RLU, RHL, RES, and HVAC using the Telematics app. This also includes testing Tow on the bench and in vehicle tracking features.

Setting up charge testing for electric vehicles (EV), testing the vehicle plug-in reminder feature, and performing Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates.

Analysis and Validation:

Analyze logs to identify issues and root causes, creating tickets with necessary log attachments.

Validate tickets both in vehicles and on the validation bench.

Tool Used:

Utilize tools such as CANoe, Renesas E1 Debugger, Qualcomm QXDM & QPST, ELT (modem logs), DLT Viewer, ADB, and OE diagnostic tools to autonomously support customers at their locations.

Description: The Cluster HMI (Human-Machine Interface) project involved a comprehensive evaluation of various features within the vehicle's instrument cluster. The primary goal was to ensure the seamless operation and accurate display of information on the LCD screen. This included testing menu navigation, information display, in-car connectivity, user interface, and error handling. Through rigorous testing and validation, the project contributed to the successful launch of the Cluster HMI system, ensuring a high-quality product that met or exceeded customer expectations. The testing methodology encompassed system-level testing, functional testing, performance testing, and compatibility testing. The project outcomes included enhanced user experience, optimized system performance, and improved product quality.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Analyze system-level requirements for Cluster features and conduct comprehensive testing on both bench and in-vehicle environments.

Collaborate closely with the development team to report and track issues effectively.

Design and execute test cases based on requirement specifications and analyze test results to identify defects.
