Life Enrichment Assistant

The Renaissance-Olmsted Falls, OH

July 2022 to Present

As a Life Enrichment Coordinator, I am dedicated to enhancing the lives of residents by providing meaningful activities that foster connection, engagement, and a sense of purpose. One of my primary responsibilities is organizing and hosting a wide range of events and activities, designed to appeal to diverse interests and abilities, ensuring that every resident feels included. I take great pride in creating an environment where residents feel seen, heard, and valued. Through careful planning and personalized engagement, I build relationships that allow me to understand their unique preferences and needs, tailoring activities to meet those needs.

Patience and empathy are at the core of my approach, as I work to ensure that all residents feel comfortable and supported in their involvement. Whether it’s leading a group activity or offering one-on- one interactions, I am committed to fostering positive connections that uplift the residents’ spirits and contribute to their overall well-being. I actively encourage participation from everyone, helping residents feel confident and motivated to join in, regardless of their individual limitations. In addition to facilitating activities, I assist with the planning and coordination of monthly calendars, ensuring that there is a consistent variety of events, outings, and social opportunities for residents. This requires strong organizational skills, as I collaborate with other team members to ensure that all events are well-planned, well-executed, and aligned with residents’ interests and needs. Maintaining a clean and safe environment is also an essential part of my role. I am responsible for ensuring that the work environment is always sanitary, which includes cleaning up after events and ensuring that the spaces used for activities are safe, organized, and conducive to participation. I take great care in making sure that every detail is attended to so that the focus remains on the residents’ enjoyment and engagement.

Another key aspect of my role is organizing and leading outings, where I ensure that residents are well taken care of, and that their safety is prioritized. I plan logistics, coordinate transportation, and make sure that everything runs smoothly, so residents can enjoy a seamless and enjoyable experience outside of their usual environment.

Overall, my role as a Life Enrichment Coordinator is extremely rewarding as it allows me to make a direct, positive impact on the lives of residents. Through compassion, creativity, and careful planning, I strive to create an enriching and supportive atmosphere that encourages meaningful participation, fosters social connections, and contributes to the overall quality of life for each resident. STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant)

Riverview Pointe Care Center-Olmsted Falls, OH

January 2022 to July 2022

As a dedicated and compassionate State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), my daily responsibilities revolve around providing high-quality, hands-on care to individuals in need, while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. I am committed to delivering compassionate care that promotes both physical and emotional well-being for each resident I serve. My role is both incredibly rewarding and demanding, requiring patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of each resident’s individual needs and preferences.

On a daily basis, I provide a range of essential services, including assisting residents with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral care. I approach these activities with the utmost sensitivity, ensuring that each resident feels respected, comfortable, and dignified. Recognizing the vulnerability of those in my care, I offer support in a gentle, patient manner, always maintaining an environment of trust and reassurance.

In addition to personal care, I assist residents with mobility, helping them to move from one place to another safely. This includes repositioning bedridden residents, assisting with walking, or helping with transfers in and out of chairs or beds. I ensure that proper techniques are used to prevent injury or discomfort, and always take the time to address any concerns residents may have about their comfort or mobility.

Medication reminders and assistance are another critical component of my role. While I do not administer medications, I ensure that residents take their medications as prescribed, and I communicate any concerns or changes in health to the nursing team. By being attentive to any side effects or reactions, I help ensure that residents receive the proper medical care when needed. Daily documentation is also a key part of my responsibilities. I am tasked with accurately recording important information related to the resident’s health, behaviors, and emotional well-being. This documentation helps provide the nursing team with vital information about the residents’ conditions and helps guide future care plans. I take this responsibility seriously, ensuring that every note I make is thorough and accurate, so that the entire care team is well-informed and equipped to make the best decisions for the resident’s care.

One of the most important aspects of my role is providing emotional and psychological support to residents. Many of the individuals I care for may experience feelings of loneliness, confusion, or anxiety, and I take great pride in being a calming presence in their lives. Through active listening, gentle encouragement, and maintaining a positive and reassuring demeanor, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment. It’s incredibly rewarding to build trust and rapport with residents, knowing that I am not just providing physical care, but also offering emotional comfort and companionship. I also assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring that residents receive the proper nutrition. Whether helping with mealtime, offering hydration, or making sure that specialized dietary requirements are met, I am dedicated to supporting residents’ health through proper nutrition. For those who require special diets or have swallowing difficulties, I take extra care to ensure they are fed in a way that meets their medical needs while also providing the comfort of a pleasant mealtime experience. Another key aspect of my role as an STNA is ensuring that residents’ living environments are clean, safe, and comfortable. I help with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning rooms, changing bed linens, and organizing personal belongings, all of which contribute to a sense of pride and autonomy for the residents. A clean and well-organized space not only supports physical health but also enhances mental well-being by providing a sense of order and stability. The work environment itself is dynamic, requiring me to remain adaptable and responsive to the needs of the residents at all times. No two days are alike, and every resident has unique care needs that require a customized approach. Whether assisting with daily routines, coordinating with healthcare providers, or helping residents with physical or cognitive limitations, I approach each task with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of care.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is the opportunity to form personal connections with the residents. Over time, I build strong relationships with the individuals under my care, getting to know their preferences, likes, and dislikes. The trust they place in me is something I deeply value, and I always strive to meet their needs with the utmost professionalism and compassion. Ultimately, being an STNA caregiver is deeply fulfilling because it allows me to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Every interaction, whether it’s offering a comforting word, providing physical assistance, or simply sharing a moment of connection, is an opportunity to improve someone’s day and contribute to their overall well-being. The satisfaction of knowing that I have played a role in helping others live their lives with dignity, comfort, and joy is what drives my commitment to providing exceptional care each and every day.

I take great pride in the work I do as an STNA, and I am dedicated to providing the highest quality care to those who need it most. My passion for caregiving, combined with my attention to detail, patience, and empathetic approach, allows me to consistently provide a level of service that enhances the lives of the residents I care for. Every day brings new challenges, but it is the positive impact I have on the lives of those I serve that makes this career incredibly rewarding and meaningful. Customer Service Associate
