I retired from the U.S.Army after serving 23 years on active duty as Commission Officer. I have experienced working on many diverse assignments to include: 82nd airborne infantry, special forces, civil affairs, warehouse management, petroleum logistics & recruiting.
I am computer literate, proficient in Microsoft: Excel, Word and Power Point. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Self motivating, independent thinker skilled at management, planning, development and teaching. Licensed Math Teacher Grades 8-12 in both Texas & New Mexico. Acknowledged leader through work to integrate and adapt “Smart Board” and “Clicker” technology into the Irvin Math Program. Selected to pilot the “ALEKS” Program for the EPISD. ALEKS is an acronym for: Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces is a Web-based, artificially intelligent assessment and learning system. ALEKS uses adaptive questioning to quickly and accurately determine exactly what a student knows and doesn't know in a course. Special Operations Team Chief March 2006 - March 2007
U. S. Army, Iraq
Leader of a four-man, special operations civil affairs team. Personally assessed civil infrastructure in South Central Iraq. Assessed sewage, water and electrical distribution networks, agriculture, transportation network, medical services and schools. Proposed over $100 million dollars in projects that were approved and accepted by the Army Corps of Engineers that improved the quality of life for the people of Iraq. Engaged in standing up a local provisional government to function within U.S. State Department guidelines. Credited, by being awarded Bronze Star, with laying the groundwork that culminated, in December ’06, in the first ever provisional council meeting that was attended by: Area Sunni and Shia Provisional Council Members, U.S. State Department Representatives, and senior U.S. and Iraqi military leadership.

Also served as the Battalion’s Maintenance Officer, Field Ordering and Contracting Officer.

Planned and managed oversight of all fuel operations for a Petroleum Pipeline Terminal Operations Battalion with an authorized strength of 471 soldiers. Provided a battlefield petroleum distribution system to wholesale/retail customers within a designated area of responsibility. Ensured accurate and timely logistics status reports were provided to the Chief Executive Officer. Coordinated with the rear area operations command to implement a rear area security plan and force protection activity within the unit’s designated area of responsibility. Received mission statement, provided guidance, published appropriate operations orders and coordinated instructions. Received, analyzed and disseminated tactical intelligence reports. Developed and supervised intelligence and counterintelligence training. Identified training shortfalls and supervised the formulation of corrective training plans.

Guided subordinates to overcome difficulties encountered, correct errors and rectify complaints, appraising performance of direct reports and reviewing employee ratings by subordinate supervisors, coaching to inspire competency and job training counseling on work conduct. Advised the Chief Executive Officer in regards to unit status, personnel / administration, training, security, equipment maintenance, logistics, mobility, and issues regarding welfare, health and morale of assigned

US Army Recruiting Company, El Paso, TX
Command extended over an area of 64,000 sq. miles, comprised of 9 recruiting stations and over 50 assigned recruiters located throughout Southern New Mexico and West Texas. Enlisted over two thousand recruits during tenure, resulting in recognition as the most improved Company in the top U.S. recruiting battalion 1998. Organized sales training for recruiters and station commanders. Routinely inspected recruiting personnel, their vehicles and offices. Improved quality of life by organizing family activities. Wrote and reviewed all performance evaluations and ratings.
