Audited connections to determine proper billing. Checked incoming connections to see if the fiber was lit from the provider when we were informed there was no connection. Assisted with unracking blade servers, switches and RAID arrays in the AT&T cage. Racked a blade server. First, both power connections to each unit were disconnected. The units were left to sit overnight to be sure the proper units were specified. Then the fiber cables were disconnected, and the units were pulled off the rails. Lastly, the rails were disconnected from the rack and discarded.
A unit had to be racked. I counted up to the proper spot and attached the rails. Then, I slid the unit in and attached the redundant power supplies. The fiber cable was run from the back of the unit to the meet-me room, and the unit was powered on.
Assisted in troubleshooting a firewall for a client. We ensured that the rollover cable was attached and checked which of the two firewalls was having the problem by unplugging them and reporting the results to the client who was on the phone with me.
