Responsibilities: Directed marketing communications efforts to support product management plans and project execution for entire medical diagnostic product portfolio. Drove promotional/sales efforts aimed at achieving objectives for increased awareness and higher numeric revenue returns in the clinical products business area. Generated creative briefs/copy while managing design of product collateral, tradeshow graphics, advertising, presentations, instructional videos, and miscellaneous ad-hoc distributor/custom materials and programs.
Highlights:
Initiated replacement of outside creative agencies to effectively control costs; this reduced budgets on all collaterals for hundreds of products, including twenty-five focus products. Savings were 25%-50% per project, and often more. For example, the full clinical products diagnostic catalog transitioned from a cost of over $30,000 to $7,000.
Identified and drove savings of $50,000 over one year while supervising literature fulfillment system, which after implementation, resulted in the company’s exit from an unfavorable vendor contract.
Achieved strategic article placement in the hospital and physician’s office segments for lead company products reaching 25,000–30,000 North American (NA) lab customers at a time over a 3-year period.
Achieved product placement opportunity for iFOB rapid test on the Doctors television program in the US. The net effect was a 200%+ increase in diagnostic product exposure at no cost to Alere.
