One key achievement was in 1999 when I headed the Restructuring Team to Coca Cola – Kaduna Plant (3rd largest factory in 1999). I led and championed a new cross functional restructuring team to revamp the Plant, manage huge capital investment projects, rebuild all Finance Accounting Process from a Process Re- engineering perspective, reconcile the books and align same with Global 3
Best Practice and Standard Operating Procedures and also be part of the investigation team carrying out a forensic audit support with Price Waterhouse Coppers (PwC Audit Firm). This was a major project under my leadership, and it was successfully executed with sustainable results. The outcome warranted my promotion from a Senior Finance Manager
(FM1) to Divisional Finance Manager overseeing 9 Factories in year 2000 and in 2002 as Strategic Business Planning Analyst in Coca Cola HBC Group Office Athens.
o I championed the Process System Re-Design and Finance Balance Score Card Design – Coca Cola Nigeria:
SC Johnson West / East Africa
o Procurement Category Growth Strategy and Alternate Sourcing Option: In SC Johnson, domestic production of Air Care Product collapsed in Nigeria and West African Market because local petrochemical refinery could not produce the spec of Liquefied Gas required. This diluted Corporate Revenue by over 35%, with huge loss in Market Share due to product discontinuity. Consequently, as Finance Lead, I was able to integrate our Ghana and Nigeria subsidiaries with a new Regional Import Plan that aided optimal regional product supply and turnover growth.
IMPACT 1/ Full Market Recovery, 2/ Cheaper and enhanced quality product with more variant and product assortment. 3/ we exceeded Revenue Target by 15% in 2009 for Air-Care sub product category and grew profitably in the category and 4/ added four basis points on Market Share. Finance also coordinated effectively all intercompany receivables and optimal payments across all locations with Nil Fx Exposure o Major Acquisition Projects:
I led the acquisition projects of two global brands acquired by SC Johnson (KIWI and BAYGON) and integrated both into the Domestic Market and Regional Markets of West and East Africa, successfully
All management synergy reports and business scenario reports that influenced strategic decisions were generated by Finance under my leadership. Key output of my work was used in the last Extra Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) that led to huge equity dilution of the Minority Share Holders in a “Buy-Out” plan that improved SC Johnson Majority Shares from 53.8% to 74.3% in 4
2011. The synergic effect of the combined business witnessed growth index improvement from an average CARG rate of 8% in the prior 5 years to a growth index of 105% in Turnover, and 130% in Profits in the first full year of operation representing great value addition for all stakeholder.
Mondelez/Cadbury: FMCG (4 years 2012 – 2016).
o As a Top Tier Finance Business Partner to Integrated Supply Chain in Cadbury /Mondelez, I led the project converting National Grain Storage from Corporate Owned Inventory to Outsourced Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI Model). With the successful execution of this initiative, all Working Capital Indices improved significantly: Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH) dropped from 64 days to 25 days (representing 39 basis point improvement).
o Initiated and executed the Corporate Productivity Project which impacted Cash flow significantly, improving Investible Cash Threshold by +$4.3m.
