Title Simulation of two-phase flows based on the incompressible Cahn-Hilliard-Navier- Stokes (CHNS) equations
Supervisors Professor Mehdi Dehghan & Associate Professor Mostafa Abbaszadeh Description
{ Focused on the CHNS system, which couples the Cahn–Hilliard equation with the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations to model binary fluid dynamics.
{ Developed a novel numerical algorithm that is linear in both time and space, requiring the solution of only a linear algebraic system at each time step, resulting in high computational efficiency.
{ Demonstrated that the proposed scheme is unconditionally energy stable.
{ Applied Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) using Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline
(NURBS) basis functions to construct exact geometric representations.
{ Used the Isogeometric Collocation (IGC) method to approximate spatial derivatives.
{ Simulated the Phase-Field Crystal (PFC) equation under Dirichlet boundary conditions to study microstructure evolution on atomic and diffusive time scales.
{ Employed a second-order stabilized semi-implicit scheme for temporal discretiza- tion and IGA for spatial components.
{ Investigated the two-dimensional non-stationary incompressible Boussinesq equations for modeling natural convection in viscous fluids.
{ Discretized the time component using a semi-implicit scheme in the stream- function formulation and applied IGA for spatial discretization. Isfahan – Iran
