I spent several years as a staff attorney for a large international law firm, and worked on many large-scale antitrust matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. I also have a great deal of experience in intellectual property, contracts, and similar matters, such as internal audits, patent and copyright infringement cases, as well as cases involving money laundering and price fixing, including several FCPA investigations involving wire transfers, tobacco, national defense, electronics, and other industries. Other cases include multi- district litigation concerning petrochemical, real estate, airlines, energy trading, banking, electronics, healthcare, mortgages, and other industries. I am experienced as a team lead/review manager and have frequently conducted privilege review, quality control review, document management, oversight and briefings for 50+ reviewers on a daily basis.
I have also served as a trial advocate and litigator for many years, winning judgments in civil and criminal cases including family law, immigration, traffic, employment, landlord/tenant, fraud, assault, & other matters. As a solo practitioner, I have drafted all documents from motions to briefs, written and answered discovery requests, and tried cases in bench trials and before juries. I have prepared consignment contracts, property settlement agreements, reviewed and revised residential and commercial leases, stock agreements for a small start-up, and drafted contracts for residential property developers.
From 2001-2005, I worked as a communications policy consultant advising Federal, state and local public safety agencies on interoperability, adoption of high- speed telecommunications, encryption, video streaming applications and other emerging technologies. My duties included monitoring more than twenty active dockets for potential impact to constituents, as well as equipment procurement, leases, studies of in-building wi-fi coverage, and other issues. During that period, I served as the primary author of public comments to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on behalf of public safety agencies, regularly attending FCC meetings and other events.
