Industrial Electrician / Multi-craft Maintenance Technician – Duties include coordinating multi-department projects/working with sub-contractors as well as Installing, maintaining and repairing machinery/building electrical systems (24VAC – 480VAC). Responsible for calculating electrical loads and the installation of new circuits to machinery and additions to the facility infrastructure as well as identifying and isolating energy sources (LOTO) such as voltage, pneumatic/hydraulic pressure, etc. I work as part of the team to ensure a safe environment that includes working at heights, confined spaces, adjacent operators and equipment with a focus on minimizing equipment downtime. Maintenance Technician – (full time)Responsible for the electrical / mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on steel forming machines, safety equipment and all peripheral equipment e.g. ( Siemens S7 PLC’s and Remote I/O, drives, scrubber system, variable frequency drives, cooling towers, confined spaces, hydraulic pumps, motors, pneumatic valves, etc.) as well as general building maintenance ( air compressor, automatic band saw, electrical circuits, cranes, minor carpentry, plumbing, welding, concrete work, etc. ) Coordinate with Safety and Engineering Departments to facilitate building and process improvements. Building maintenance encompasses the use of many different types of tools and equipment such as scissor lifts, aerial booms, etc as well as planning and supervising on-site contractor work.

Isolating Planner – Responsible for the identification of hazards/risks pertinent to a given task along with the planning how to execute the safe and correct isolation of all energy sources (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, kinetic energy or suspended loads) affecting inspection / work on any part of the mill equipment or building.

M. L. Leonard provides sales, installation and service for the petroleum industry.

Service Technician – (full time)Performed service and maintenance for all facets of petroleum distribution; submerged pumps, leak detectors, functional elements, transducers etc. Install, repair and maintain gas, diesel and kerosene dispensers (metering devices, pulsers, valves, filters etc). Install new consoles, credit card readers and modems. Upgrade, change and repair software, firmware and hardware in existing consoles and dispensers. As a technician, I am responsible for all parts (stock and non-stock), paperwork and service call completion.

01/04 - 4/06 Power Systems International (PSI)

Quality & Service technician

PSI manufactures portable diesel generators and E.C.U.s (Environmental Control Units) for the military and Homeland Defense applications.

Quality – (full time)inspect incoming parts for conformity, perform in-process inspections, enter and catalog data in various computer formats including Microsoft, Word and Excel. Inspect and trouble-shoot factory generators, portable load banks, power distribution equipment and assembled heating and cooling systems. I, along with two other techs, responsible for finding any and all performance issues for every piece of equipment sold.

Service - trouble-shooting generators from 10 kilowatt to 60 kilowatt capacity. These systems are three phase 50 -60 hertz, 208, and 380vac. These generators also incorporate 24, 0-10vdc mill volt and milliamp signals for gauges, relays, timers, etc. Most of our units have load - sharing and load - shedding capabilities and some have remote start with remote preventive system stops. I also service the HVAC units in the field as well as the gensets. These units are usually 8-ton with 15 kilowatts of heat.

09/99 - 01/04 Des Champs Laboratories Inc. (D.L.I.)

Supervisor – (full time)Inventory, and Receiving Departments

ASSY III - responsible for the assembly (brazing, pipefitting, installation of switches, sensors and other components) and charging of large tandem multi-ton cooling and heating units.

Lead man - responsible for a department that built large commercial air handlers. Duties included piping chilled water, steam and glycol systems, installing humidifiers and natural gas systems (direct and indirect). Oversaw sheet metal and fan assembly, the installation and operation of pneumatic and electric actuators and performed department related field service. Performed initial quality inspections and operation of the units which required knowledge of NEC wiring codes and N.F.P.A. codes.

ASSY II - same department assisted in the above operation before being responsible for production and quality.
