The Essential Functions Include:
Responsible for the overall supervision, care and protection of clients while on duty

Involvement with crisis interventions

Be made aware of and screen visitors to the campus
Be available for emergency calls after regular hours
Be aware of staff on duty and assign staff when necessary to secure coverage when needed

Assist staff with client disciplinary problems, runaways and drug involvement

East Los Angeles College: Adjunct Professor of Civics
As the Professor of Civics I provide instruction to 20-25 adults who are seeking their citizenship status in the United States, I do all the lesson planning and assessments for ELAC, I also provide tutoring help for those who need the service in order to pass the Citizenship exam.
Optimist Youth and Family Foster Care Services: Officer of the Day ( Main Campus Supervisor)
As the Officer of the Day (Supervisor) I was in charge of all daily activities, movements, and behavioral problems on the campus. I was in charge of the safety and welfare of all residents and their well being. I also supervised and met with Dorm staff daily to discuss any problems and changes throughout the campus. My daily activities included the updated daily population and movements of the residents, staffing of the dorms, and all emergency procedures and daily campus checks.
LAUSD Special Education Teacher/Substitute (10/1996 –06/09/2022)
Developed curriculum for special education students in history, science, career planning, job placement, health, life skills, and English. Provided differentiated classroom instruction for all students. Conducted and facilitated IEP meetings with all necessary participants, provided formal/informal student assessments and update all information for IEP’s. Responsible for conducting parent conferences and provide daily, weekly, and monthly behavior assessments with school psychologist, social workers, lawyers, student advocates, and all school staff to ensure proper care and goals for all special needs students and troubled youths.
LA County Probation Department Group Supervisor Nights/Detention Service Officer
Duties include intake services for all new minors entering the juvenile hall facility which includes a short interview for accurate placement in facility units, security of facility and of all minors at all times. Ensure the daily routine and rules of housing units for all minors that included attending school on a daily basis and proper conduct in housing unit, also provide counseling and education assistance when needed. Led housing unit group gang and counseling services for minors in need. Conducted nightly safety checks and the maintenance of the housing unit. Provided movements of minors with safety on a daily basis.

Olive Crest Residential Treatment Center
Provided caseload services for minors in facility, which included foster care services, medication services as well as proper care and safety of minors in the facility. Responsible for minor transportation from school to center as well as nightly checks for minors and facility safety. Responsible for daily administer of medication to minors, medical service appointments, counseling services, daily housing routines and chores. Supervision of 10-15 minors on outings of the facility, the accountability of daily funds and supervision of staff and scheduling.

Auxiliary Legal Services for the County Counsel of Los Angeles
Duties include the interviewing of minors that were wards of the court and investigation of minor mistreatment and abuse cases for the County of Los Angeles. Caseload included 15-20 minors. Responsible for daily communication with attorneys, social workers, judges, parents, and the community to gather information for the county counsel who represented minors who were wards of the court.

MacLaren Hall Children Facility
Duties included the security and welfare of all minors in the facility which included daily housing routines as well as attending school on a daily basis, daily night checks for safety and security of minors and facility. Maintained daily communication of minor’s behavior and improvement. Assessment of minor behavior in unit as well as with other minors in the unit, group counseling sessions and parent/minor relationship groups.
