Intellimatch to DART Conversion

The purpose of the Wholesale New Reconciliation Application Project is to move from an outdated 1998 legacy FIS/SunGard reconciliation system to a cloud-enabled in-house reconciliation system. The current reconciliation system, IntelliMatch is considered a CAM (Critical Applications Model) high application and ranked in the top 100 Technology applications in the scoring of security vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities were assessed based on an algorithm that was executed upon all Wholesale technology applications. The score included factors such as system age, programming language that the system is coded SOX application, number of users, and whether it is a critical books and records system. IntelliMatch has had a vulnerability exception open since February 2016 for the inability to upgrade to MSXML 6.0 and the application utilizes functionality not supported in MSXML 6.0. The vendor has been reluctant to resolve vulnerabilities and while they are now attempting to address MSXML 6.0 (targeting Q4 2017); any future vulnerabilities will require significant rewrites of the application. Develop and implement more accurate and proactive liquidity forecasting models and match rules to predict cash inflows and outflows.

Loan IQ v7.1.4 Upgrade Project

The GE Capital Acquisition will result in a substantial increase of non-USD balance sheet positions. Of particular note are the Wells Fargo Capital Finance and Wells Fargo Equipment Finance entities in the Americas (specifically Canada), Wells Fargo International Finance LLC, Cardinal International Leasing (“WFIF”) and new entities formed as subsidiaries of WFIF in the Asia Pacific region. Corporate Treasury Group and International Finance do not currently have robust tools and infrastructure to effectively manage and hedge this increase in FX position and funding/liquidity risk in Canada and APAC. Hedging of the FX position must be conducted in compliance with the Volcker Rule and a manual non-automated process is not sustainable. Two new OPICS Branches (Branch 09 – Asia and Br 10- North America) are created to manage non-USD positions in multiple entities.

The two main issues are: One side of an internal non-derivative transaction going unrecorded or not being recorded on equal and opposite terms to the corresponding other side. Internal non-derivative transaction breaks occurring and not being identified and resolved on a timely basis. This project is to effectively manage funding strategies and optimizing liquidity management.

This is a major project with high visibility due to the CICAT issue and Affiliate accounting. All SORs with in International are engage and tested as part of this project.

To meet that goal, WF created a repository that will include all data required for any “foreseeable” tax reporting. The tax reports 1042-S and 8966 are created and sent to GAMS (Global Application Middleware Service) and IRS. To enhance the financial stability and operational efficiency of the organization by improving the management of liquidity, optimizing funding strategies, and ensuring adequate cash flow for day-to-day operations.

This is a high visibility project as the tax reports are directly sent to IRS after the team validates them
