Responsible for the design and redesign of a prototype/pilot large scale electrical grid energy storage system (using Li-Ion batteries). As this is a prototype, lots of testing and manufacturing feedback has us constantly upgrading and adjusting the system for efficiency, safety, manufacturability and customer experience. Most of the engineering changes are to sheet metal, welding, injection molded plastics, bus bar design, large high current power cables and routing of them. This in a fast paced environment.

Perkin Elmer/Revvity: Sr. Mechanical Engineer, July 2020 to January 2024. SolidWorks, PDM Professional, Agile.

Responsible for being the R&D Mechanical lead on three NPI’s and general sustaining engineering on in vivo animal imaging systems. Designed several fixtures for R&D and manufacturing sub systems testing, including sourcing parts and test stand assembly. Currently in addition to my Engineering tasks, I’m the R&D lab manager and the Local CAD/PDM Admin. Was also responsible for day-to-day engineering operations while we recruited a full time Engineering Manager.

Was responsible for day-to-day general engineering operations as the mechanical lead in addition to my role as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer. Was responsible for both R&D and product updates. Was project lead and lead engineer on and developed a new production vacuum and fill station used in the preparation of and the final gas mixture used in the laser cores. Budget of $130K and is currently in operation. Implemented and administer PDM Standard for all company documentation.

Continuum Innovation/Sterilis Medical. Sept 2014 to February 2016, SolidWorks, PDM Workgroup.

Responsible for all aspects of SolidWorks design and documentation for a complex standalone medical waste system. This included large complex assemblies, plastics, sheet metal, pneumatics and more, including cost down, design for manufacturing and improvements to reliability Was instrumental in setting up the standard CAD best practices and PDM.

Cognex Corp. June 2013 to Sept 2014, SolidWorks, PDM Workgroup.

Responsible for the design of both concept products for customer consideration and continuing design improvements/documentation for current products. Supported manufacturing with both fixture design and work instructions. Project lead on several product being developed as one offs for customer use.
