Responsible for leading all environmental programs including: Title V, SPCC, RCRA, Industrial

Corporate Environmental Manager

Responsible for all Environmental compliance and Environmental controls for 26 rendering and bakery facilities nationwide. Applied for and successfully negotiated several Title V, NPDES, and Land Application System permits in different states. Oversaw reporting (Title V compliance certifications, TSCA, Form R, Compliance Certification, LAS, etc.) and other staff positions (two direct reports at corporate level).

Key Contributions:

· Developed and launched new Environmental Management System.

· Design, installation and trouble shooting for air and wastewater abatement including scrubbers, RTOs, mechanical WWTPs, lagoons, etc.

· Solved difficult odor violations (resulting in NOV that would have delayed air permit) at Texas facility through simple modification to production processes and O&M practices.

· Prepared data and made presentation to KYDEP to eliminate requirements for “Baby BACT” VOC rule at bakery facility.

· Demonstrated through collection and analysis of data that existing processes across the company were in compliance with various new & pending MACT standards.

Responsible for all Environmental compliance and engineering including air NESHAPS, Title V permits and IWPs, RCRA, etc. Hired and trained all five plant and corporate level environmental managers/engineers.

Prepared major facilities for ISO 14001 Certification after establishing Corporate-wide Environmental Management System. Successfully registered 20 facilities.

· Used proposed paint line expansion (for new business) as an opportunity to eliminate old technology coating operations that were in danger of not being customer compliant.

· New RTO expansion resulted in re-classification from major PSD source for VOCs to synthetic minor for Title V and MACT (VOC Coating of Plastic Parts). As per normal, prepared and negotiated air permitting and did RFQ for changes & additions myself.

· Wrote comments for SubPart MMMM MACT (Misc Metal Parts) on behalf of FNG.

· Improved performance of existing environmental controls (WWTPs, scrubbers, etc.) for two largest facilities.

· Specified and installed all environmental controls for (WWTP, Scrubbers, Catalytic Oxidizer, etc.) for greenfield automotive supply manufacturing facility in central Mexico.

· Awarded “Fabricación limpia” award for the wastewater treatment plant I designed and installed.

Responsible for all aspects of environmental compliance and engineering (major air, water and solid & hazardous waste issues) at this Arvin subsidiary, which has a production output of nearly one billion pounds of substrate processed annually. · Wrote comments for and negotiated requirements of Coal Coating MACT as part of National Coil Coater MACT Task Force.

· Compiled data and successfully negotiated (to the benefit of the facilities) two new and several renewal Title V permits.

· Specified and installed several thermal oxidizers, negotiated and performed compliance testing for two new installations.

· Performed diagnostics to demonstrate shortcomings of existing and new phys-chm wastewater plants to justify capital upgrades which resulted in elimination of significant non compliance status to compliance.

Responsible for all environmental programs at this gray iron and ductile iron foundry and machining operation including: Air Permitting, oversight of closure for local RCRA Clean-up site (lagoon), development of solid waste management program from special waste to hazardous waste, and storm water NPDES permit. Key player in Indiana Clean Air Act Advisory Committee during adoption of Part 70 rule into SIP. This included writing or helped in writing several model air permits & model CAMs that are still used by IDEM today.
