Senior Telecom Switch Technician

Responsibilities include maintaining a healthy network by performing routine maintenance to all network elements such as Ericsson, Nokia and Cisco (4G and 5G). Also, I tested, built and turned-up new cell sites for GSM, 3G, 4G and 5G networks. In addition, I am very proficient in SONET, DWDM, VOIP, Ericsson OSS, CEN, ENM and Nokia Netact (4G,5G), Cisco VOIP, Alcatel CSR/MAD, Nortel/Ericsson DMS-100, 250 and MTX, ATLAS (Equipment inventory program).

I participated in bi-weekly conference calls containing upcoming projects within the MSO/Switch. I served as point of contact/escalation for the MSO/Switch, Network Operations Center, and other technical departments. I also created a monthly schedule for the MSO Technicians. I Performed routine maintenance and work with a variety of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, NTM and TBS. In addition, I configured and upgraded network elements with the telecom network and the IT network of my switching location.

To maintain functionality to the network I regularly perform heath check on the Generators and Power plants (DC/AC). I routinely interact with multiple engineering departments to assist and resolve a variety of issues. Analyze and troubleshoot network equipment problems, while taking the appropriate corrective actions needed to maintain network integrity. I also worked with the transmission network within the telecom switch as in optical cables single-mode, multi-mode and mux nodes.

I also worked and configured ZOOM, Webex, MS Teams, Laptops, Desktops, Wireless Nodes, Servers and data hubs Printers. I was the local IT guru within the switch location and before my coworkers went to corporate IT they came to me for assistance. In addition, I installed a wireless network in two offices via cabling and node placement and node configuration. My previous employers before the T-Mobile buyout were Nextel, Sprint and Ericsson.

Responsibilities included providing technical support for MS Word to users both remotely, and on-site during rollout of a software upgrade. Repaired, configured, and installed PC’s and printers. LAN and WAN networking were included as a part of the daily task.

I was originally brought in to roll out new software to the lawyers and paralegals, but Holland and knight kept me around longer because of my skills with word processing and desktops repair.

I originally was employed was to sort out sales tax ID's for Dade Paper Company but Dade Paper Company became aware of my skills with Microsoft Excel and they kept me around a little longer. I was assisting the CFO with daily duties as an CFO assistant.
