Executed project governance for the building of a civil structure for a massive new plant. This was a totally greenfield project, building the foundation of a plant, which included clearing and grubbing, receiving cement and cement aggregate, piping, etc., and negotiating timely ordering and delivery of project resources.

Nurtured a collaborative work environment directing project construction, including technical feasibility, adherence to specifications, definition of deliverables, change and quality control management to engineering design.

Monitored the evolution of the design build lifecycle, providing consultative oversight for equipment status, installation of materials in the field, tracking progress and preparation of high-level status reports.

Monitored project development lifecycle for concurrently running projects providing supervision of a cross-functional team within the fabrication facility. Assigned and tracked performance of over eight-million-man hours without any lost time.

Established strategic direction working closely with fabrication and QC departments to ensure strict adherence to production and quality control standards. Integrated scalable manufacturing, production, and document controls that resulted in a 90% decrease in non-conformance.

Coordination with QC was centered around welding NDT. It involved VT, UT, and PT, with lots of documentation due to it being a nuclear project. Proper welding wire was also something that was tracked with strict document control.

Field Engineer, April 2008 - August 2011

Piloted concurrently running projects and pre-commissioning activities including hydrostatic testing, cleaning, drying and pigging. Authored project work plans and procedures to ensure proper task administration. Conducted comprehensive site visits overseeing operations crews and monitoring all project stages from initial groundbreaking to completion. Leak detection projects were performed offshore on production platforms and inland at refineries and other plants. Leak detection methods involved soapy bubble leak tests, pressure change leak tests, and helium leak tests with a mass spectrometer while using 1% helium and 99% nitrogen.

Carlsbad Energy Center (CEC) Power Plant Construction in Carlsbad, CA

Oversaw execution of all project phases including logistics, resources and budget management for this new 500-megawatt natural gas plant that modernized and ramped up integration of renewable power for California residents. (~500 million dollars)

Vogtle and VC Summer Nuclear Power Plants

Enhanced efficiency and productivity developing strategic work plans to ensure timely completion of all modules for the nuclear sites. Leveraged organizational capabilities to maintain timeliness of all projects and guide the successful fabrication of all modules.

Pemex

Coordinated simultaneous work plans, collaborating with the design and development team in Mexico, allocating resources and monitoring all project phases. Created approval drawings, based upon customer specifications, developed schematics for the hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems for the crane and produced fabrication and assembly drawings. Oversaw all factory acceptance testing and developed user manuals for new marine cranes. (Over 100,000 dollars per crane)

Gulf of Mexico Chevron Tahiti Platform

Supervised helium leak testing operations marking up detailed piping and instrument designs and conducting constructability review sessions to ensure project successes. Worked in tandem with customer managing cleaning and drying activities for the William's pipeline running from the platform. (~10 million dollars)

Cornerstone Chemical Plant – Worley Engineering

Coordinated and carried out the planning, funding approval, and oversaw the interactions with the vendor to deliver a melamine reactor to the Cornerstone Chemical Plant. (~5 million dollars)

Henkel Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky

Planned, coordinated, and delivered a new tank and piping for the Henkel Plant. This involved removing an old tank, putting in a new one, and routing piping from one part of the plant to the other and adding many valves and supports. (~2 million dollars)

Chevron Pipeline Project – Weatherford

Developed, planned, and on-site project managed a pipeline job going from New Orleans to Paradis, LA. This involved pipeline integrity testing, as well as cleaning and drying. I oversaw all of the management of change and documented this, along with supervising and doing the finances. (~1.5 million)
