The KQC application was developed to perform specific monitoring, alarming, alerting of defined states of operation on a given facility by Real-time monitoring and alerting, Event Tracking, Operator feedback for events, Manual data entry, Auto Holds. Benefits: KQC provides immediate alerting as opposed to after the fact alerting. With this project Mill reduced the $2.6M loss (about 10%) annually.
On Time Delivery Project:
A very critical metric at Great Lakes Works is on time delivery. The Business Service Center group at Great Lakes worked very closely with the coordination group to come up with an improved process. The Systems group provided enhanced business intelligence reports using Cognos and PI system alerts to the logistics group that assisted them in scheduling the right orders at the right time and Improved adherence to schedule by priority inter shipping, determining lost coils, improve location entry.
