Director, Application Development Manager Mar 2024 – Apr 2025 Senior Vice President, Application Development Manager, Aug 2019 - Feb 2023 Senior Vice President, Principal Application Developer, Aug 2017 – Aug 2019 The following are highlights of my career progression and daily duties.
• Rated Exceeded Expectation 4 of past 6 years.
• Won the prestigious “BNY CIO Award” in 2022.
• Secured 200K in special off-cycle bonus dollars for the team in 2023.
• Manage a team of 40 Engineers. Analysts, & RTEs across 6 geographic locations around the world.
(PA, NY, TX, UK, Chennai, Pune) that was responsible for managing the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) ecosystem.
• The team is separated into 4 scrum teams leveraging AGILE principals within JIRA utilizing key components such as Sprint Planning, Story Points, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives.
• The ALM ecosystem spans multiple technology stacks including on-prem Windows and Unix VMs along with Internal/External cloud components. (i.e. Cloudera/Impala, MS SQL Server/SSIS, Angular/.NET, Vertica, Snowflake, Exadata).
• At its core was a large-scale 4-Node MS-SQL Server data warehouse of ALM data that was curated from 400 unique datasets from 150 sources and normalized with 5K ETL rules which resulted in finalized reporting data across 24 different banking products. Daily DB growth of 225 GB.
• From there the data would then be published to various in-house reporting marts
(Vertica/Snowflake/Cloudera) as well as further data extracts for vendor platforms for Quantitative Risk Management (QRM), and daily regulatory reporting (Adenza) due to the Federal Reserve and for senior management decision making.
• Contributed to the enterprise data governance framework of the BNY liquidity data supply chain which involved the management of CDEs, PDEs, Data Contracts, TSLAs, detailed source to target mapping, as well as the maintaining robust data lineage with enterprise tooling.
• Made several ETL Improvements such as Database Tuning, Code Refactoring, Automation, Workflow Improvement, Dynamic Batch Model, and restricted access. o Implemented incremental DB statistics based on table partitions. o Implemented #Temp tables to improve data intensive processes. o Implemented SQL DB mail to communicate batch milestones to users. o Developed custom .NET components to automatically start batches based on arrival of dependent files.
o Automated several tasks that had been manual which allowed for further workflow improvements.
• The results of these improvements were the following: o The daily load is now complete by 6:30 am vs 9 am. o The batch now takes 5 hrs. of actual SQL processing to complete versus 7 hrs.
• Managing off shore L1 & L2 support teams.
• Lead AI initiatives to further improve batch performance by automating L1 support tasks and predicting batch completion times to communicate to our business users.
• Define strategic application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools leveraged in solution design.
• Participate in the evaluation and implementation of vendor application software and tools.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional, cross-platform application development teams.
• Act as subject matter expert for application design.
• Conduct elicitation reviews to determine organizational needs and make recommendations regarding the development and implementation of applications.
• Stay abreast of the latest technology infrastructure and processes in the industry and marketplace.
• Provide data integration support and documentation of data flows.
