SUMMARY / CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

2010-2012 I joined First Quantum Minerals at their Kansanshi Mining site in Solwezi where I worked as a Senior Safety Officer for the Underground operation which was a project to mine / develop a Dewatering tunnel for the open pit operation. I worked in this challenging area for twenty four months which involved mechanized drilling and tunnel blasting at a scheduled time usually towards the end of shift. Being a holder of an All Mining Operations A.M.O blasting licence, i was responsible for the Safety of the entire operation including ensuring compliances in the Rock support in the Development End

(tunnel), the explosive charging process and blasting including blasting notification / communication, Mining process, Ventilation (critical tasks) and other auxiliary duties as assigned from time to time. My other duties were conducting safety inspections and Audits, sensitizing employees on workplace hazards / risks, participating in incident investigations and risk assessment exercises, guiding, training workers on new procedures or changes, tracking incidents and injuries, organising and spearheading safety campaigns or competitions, compiling monthly injury register, advising management in all aspects of safety i.e.(Mining / Explosives / Environmental regulations and coordinating safety programs with the operatives, including inducting newly engaged or Ex-leave employees.

I however, left Kansanshi Mining PLC at the end of this projects. CURRENT

2012-2016 I worked as a Safety Officer during the Trident Project phase of Trident limited situated in the north-western province of Zambia. Following commissioning / transitioning to commercial production in August 2015, I was retained and elevated to senior Safety Officer. 2017-2021 I have been working as assistant Safety

Superintendent attached to the Mining department supervising a team of four

(4) safety officers. Prior to that, I have as well worked in the same capacity at Projects- (Construction) and Process departments, in this set up reporting to the Safety Superintendent and the host Metallurgical Process Plant Manager. FQM Trident limited is a high speed, emerging copper mining giant and is being recognised worldwide as such at a very rapid pace. The Sentinel operation as it is referred to at the world stage is based on very sophisticated technology utilizing the open pit mining method to extract ore from the ground and hauls it using big rope shovels Caterpillar 7495 and some of the biggest dump trucks such as the Liebherr T284 Ultra-class.

2024-2025 Having acquired an Alison Diploma, I am now on a British Safety career development path studying for a NEBOSH qualification-the International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.

2023-2025 I am currently working as a Deputy Safety Manager for Mining Excavation Congo (MEXCO SAS) at MMG Kinsevere site based in Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
