Store manager responsible for customer satisfaction and book keeping. Progress Rail (February 2022-August 2023)

Responsible air brake valve engineer for the product supporting manufacturing, purchasing negotiations, sales engineering, and aftermarket.

Coleman Research Group (February 2016-current)

A consultant role assisting automotive OEMs and suppliers with projects covering tire selection, federal mandates (FMVSS-121,136), GD&T, and air brake system training.

Notable customers include Nikola and Tesla.

Volvo Trucks North America, LLC (January 2008-February 2018) MANAGEMENT

Led, defined, and prioritized deliverables for other Volvo sites from 2012-current for my group

(manager appointed) and followed to completion. Assisted with the education of technical designs for the North American market for these sites. Same task performed for local bought services.

Assisted managers with one-on-one interviews of both full and part-time employees.

Standard cost of sales leader for my group (manager appointed) during cost initiative efforts. Led idea generation for both internal engineers and suppliers. Followed through until mature designs/ideas could be led by the respective engineer and buyer.

Developed business cases with engineers and buyers (cost, weight, manufacturing time, part number reduction, etc.) and assisted purchasing with directional quoting.

Recently appointed leader for all small projects essentially within my group (manager appointed) to ensure all quality tools (where applicable) are used.

Leader within my group of tracking, prioritizing, and following up with current production issues

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS

Internally led the valve/system development of the highest quality and most cost effective ABS air brake system among all heavy duty truck OEMs in collaboration with a supplier for three feature combinations (hill-start-assist/stability control/traction control).

Design/application engineer for brake valves/systems (service relays, control valves, spring brake valves, ABS modulators, etc.). The role began small and by three years I was responsible for all conventional brakes valves for VTNA & Mack.

Responsible for the Enhanced Hill Start Assist design used for the Mack Trucks hybrid vehicles. Successful collaborative design between the ABS supplier and myself.

Wide-ranging manufacturing and design experience from handling all brakes and suspension issues as a member of the U.S. ’10 front office team.

Redesigned the work brake system to accommodate disc brakes.

Application engineer for all wheels and tires. Close collaboration with sales/marketing and customers to convert to lower rolling resistance tires due to the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Regulations.

Trained professional with Pro/Engineer experience both with personal use along with assisting company designers.

INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT

Active participant within the Engine Manufacturers Association meetings.

Founding member, former Professional Development Chairman, and former Financial Business Manager for a startup Volvo diversity chapter (Volvo Early Career Professionals Network).
