WORK EXPERIENCE
ELL Teacher, Haverhill Public Schools Haverhill, MA As an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher I provided English language development instruction to children who are acquiring English as an additional language, working collaboratively with other instructional personnel, including a district-wide team of ELL teachers, to meet the individual needs of each child. Some of my duties included planning and delivering lessons, collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists, administering formative and summative assessments, completing documentation required for compliance with Title III and DESE and attending district ELL meetings and professional development offerings. September 2011- March 2022
*Teaching fifth through eighth grade English Learners in all levels and content areas.
*Lesson planning to reach all kinds of learners including several students with IEPs.
*Teaching pull-out classes and coteaching push-in classes across content areas.
* Prepare and document formal and informal assessments.
*Provide formative and summative feedback to students daily and weekly progress notes
*Keep students safe, respectful, and effortful each class by using proactive behavior charts and positive reinforcement strategies.
*Administer ACCESS testing and using WIDA, testing results, and daily in class assessments to meet students’ diverse needs in the four domains of English language acquisition. Collaborate with mainstream teachers and counselors to maintain a team approach for the progress and success of our shared English Learners.
