Researched and purchased a cloud mailbox service (Postini) to reduce the amount of spam and viruses coming into the system. This also allowed incoming mail to continue to be accepted when the mail server was down due to system maintenance.
Replaced the DAT tape drive with a 6-slot VXA tape changer and then a 14-slot Quantum LTO tape changer, allowing for the backup of multiple applications.
Network Implementation, Administration, and Maintenance
Managed network, which included 20 servers, a mixture of Windows 2003/2008, running Exchange 2007, MS/SQL 2008, File and Print services, DNS, DHCP, Backup Exec, and Enterprise Vault.

Network Security
Installed McAfee Antivirus (AV) to the server and desktops. Updated the McAfee central control program to automatically update the server operating systems and desktop applications.
Replaced McAfee AV with Kaspersky, including automatic installation, configuration, and monitoring.
Server Backup and Disaster Recovery
Tested and purchased Symantec Backup Exec (BE) and Backup Exec System Restore (BESM), allowing the backup and restore of Exchange and files using an agent, including individual files and mailboxes.
Planned secure on-site and off-site storage of backup tapes, allowing the easy retrieval and restoration of files when necessary.
Utilized BESM to create images of servers on tape or backup servers, allowing for the restoration of the image to new or repaired hardware in the event of server hardware failure.
