I worked as one of the foundry head operators. I would wait for the pourer to come to my head, I then would open the lid and wait for the pour to be finished. I would remove all the top layer of oxidized metal, close the lid and wait for the wagon to come for the metal to be poured in. After and while the metal was poured into the casting I would clean the spout from any splashing that didn't go in and scrap the pot. I would then move to the other side of the wall wait for the spinning to stop. Remove the pins and collars and then using the arm take the bearing out. I would scrap the inside and back plate of any debris then reassemble and vacuum out the inside. Knock out the top plate, date and measure the diameter. If it was within specs I would send it on it's way and repeat the process. When I wasn't working at that job I would run the babbit machine. Box and send the final product out. General cleaning of all areas. I also ran a forklift

My main job was as a Sawyer. I would pick specific lumber grades and lengths based on the job order. I would then measure and cut to length. If needed splice one or multiple boards to create top or bottom chords. I would arrange then in a specific order then send them down for the builders to build the inside to finish the truss. I also would ID eadh truss,qc, and band the bundle and push them outside for the forklift drivers. General cleaning of area.
