Project: CDHP Claims (WGS & STAR)

The CDH Enterprise Integration project was WellPoint’s commitment to develop and implement a consistent suite of market leading CDHP products for the Blue plans. WellPoint had several CDHP products that they offered to consumers and clients based upon their geographic location. When this project was complete, WellPoint could offer one suite of CDHP products in all regions where they could conduct business under the Blue brand. As part of the CDH Enterprise rollout, Medical Claims would be passed between Lumenos and the WellPoint Regions. WGS 2.0/STAR would adjudicate Lumenos claims like the regular claims. After successful adjudication, the claims would be put into a ‘PEND’ status and then passed to Lumenos for CDH adjudication. The claims in ‘PEND’ status would not be available in update mode. After Lumenos does adjudication and determines the HRA payment amount on the claim, the claim is sent back to WGS 2.0/STAR for finalization. The claim is then finalized in the respective source Core Claim system.

For CDHP members, Pharmacy (Non Medical) accumulators are shared between Lumenos and WGS 2.0/STAR. This transfer of the Accumulators is accomplished in real time process by using the BUS/MQ Series. This complete process of receiving the data, processing the accumulators and sending back the responses is achieved in form of Inbound and Outbound Process.
