Vocational Guidance Services - La Marque, TX May 2018 to August 2018
Worked a part time summer program with individuals on disability. Customer service, clerical, logging in daily activity of the employee while in their work place environment. Along with assisting with their job responsibilities. Helped to get the ones employed that were in our summer program but had not been offered a job. By calling agencies and workforce and walking into facility’s introducing myself and scheduling interviews and attending the interview to help insure employment. After getting employed making sure the employee dress attire for work was presentable and in uniform at all times. Document their attitude and counsel when inappropriate, making sure they were not late and on time. Coaching and training to help them to work properly. Place them on transportation list for too and from job if needed. I went over rules and regulations, start and end hour and break time and area for which breaks were to be taken only. Ensure ability to follow rules and regulations. Reinforce the importance of being respectful to supervisors, team leads, customers, and coworkers. Coach the individuals on their jobs and trained on proper procedures for the job they were hired to do.
I graded their performance hourly and documented and submitted to the state of Texas to help determine if this job was a right fit for this individual if not help them to find employment elsewhere. Provided transportation to interview and after employment was gained train for that job and continue to coach and monitor and log performance of the individual and report to state and meet with their direct supervisors daily to get their job duties and discuss any issues if any were presented to myself. I worked closely at CVS training on stocking shelves, vacuum, cleaning restrooms, working in warehouse restocking goods and pulling out of date merchandise off the shells. Maintain customer service while out on floor and assist customers that were shopping to find items and answer any questions customer may have. Keep the store shelves clean and in order at all times. I also worked at Goodwill and Habitat for humanity doing the same thing as at CVS. These were the 3 locations that I worked closely at supervising and training up to 9 employees with disability helping them to be able to maintain a job and keep it. At Goodwill we collected donations, wrote receipts, sorted through the donations hung on hangers and placed on bins to be placed in the correct department on the shelves. We also tagged and priced the clothes and discarded items that were not salvageable and not able to be sold. The employee was explained their job duties. They were graded on job performance, appearance, tardiness, attitude, cleanliness, job expectations daily and counseled after each shift. Then the report was data entered in the computer and sent directly to the state to determine if the job was a good fit for them if not they transferred elsewhere and some where even terminated it was based on their job performance that was documented by the job coach which was myself.
