MISSION STATEMENT
The driving force behind my life’s vocation is a desire to be useful and serve others. Whether as embodied in managing academic departments and teaching students, or in managing churches and ministering to parishioners, or most recently in assisting with the operations of a theatre company, I have over two decades of experience in providing administrative support in person and remotely. Because of personal events in my life, I also have a powerful commitment to the mission of organizations such as C-SASI, Covenant Eyes, and Naked Truth and to the importance of prevention and restoration in the battle against pornography.

Executive Assistant to President 2018 – Present
I served as Dr. Fiebig’s personal, executive assistant. Dr. Fiebig is the CEO of a non-profit theatre company, a professor Fayetteville State University, and an individual pursuing an additional graduate degree. In this capacity I managed multiple projects, often simultaneously, such as upgrading his Sweet Tea Shakespeare website, maintaining his theatre’s databases, marketing events through social media and press releases, overseeing theatre staff and volunteers, acting as project manager, redesigning aspects of his online courses, evaluating student projects, writing grant proposals, and editing papers for publication.
% I am most proud of working with Dr. Fiebig in keeping his non-profit theatre going during the Covid pandemic. I quickly became proficient with new software as we moved as many of his in-person events to various synchronous and asynchronous virtual environments as possible.
Dean of the School of Arts & Humanities and Associate Professor of Philosophy & Religion 2003 – 2018 Methodist University, Fayetteville, NC
I was promoted quickly through the teaching and administrative ranks, becoming department chair within my first two years and being selected to chair both the Academic Standards Committee and the University Honor Board. Shortly after my promotion to associate professor, I was elected by my peers and appointed by the Provost to be dean of the university’s largest school.
%President’s Strategic Planning Committee: I assisted in developing a one hundred million dollar, ten year strategic plan.
%Dean’s Council: I enjoyed working with the other school deans and with the Executive Vice President in making policy, budgetary, and staffing recommendations, in helping guide the academic life of the university, and in serving as an essential managerial bridge between the faculty and the administration.
%Accreditation: I guided each of my nine departments through an internal review process and the School of Arts and Humanities as a whole through our ten-year reaccreditation review.
%Hiring & Evaluation: I recruited and hired full-time and part-time faculty and oversaw faculty development, conference travel, and compensation, including the introduction of a new merit pay faculty evaluation process.
%Online Development: I designed a number of online philosophy and religion courses, and worked to develop a wholly online RN to BA degree program for nurses who needed to add to their educational background and meet new state requirements.
%Team Work: One of my most rewarding experiences was to initiate and organize an ad hoc committee of fellow deans and faculty that resulted in a revision of the university’s general education requirements, after two official attempts failed. Despite the inherent contentiousness involved with adding and removing courses from the curriculum, my final proposal passed with near unanimous faculty approval.
%Event Planning: I offered logistical support for university events such as Freshman orientation, Award’s Day, Chapel, and Commencement, as well as for the annual Honor Program’s international trip and various university lecture series.
%Teaching: My proudest accomplishment has been providing quality education to students for over two decades: both as their professor in the classroom and as dean by being their primary point of contact when academic concerns arose. Senior Minister 1990 – 2012
In addition to my preaching and pastoral responsibilities, I assisted the leadership of the church on the Administrative Council, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Trustees. I also published two books: a commentary on Matthew and a guide for new ministers.
