Senior Contract Manager, Project Manager, Mechanical Engineer (B.Sc.) Close to fifteen years of experience, working as a Contract Manager in a global environment for Rolls-Royce Marine, is perhaps the best of references I can present. I am 56 years old and now looking for some change and new challenges. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree, from Mechanical Engineering and for the most of my work history, I have been working for international companies and would like to continue this. I am a quick learner, with special skills in negotiations, problem solving, customer relations, planning and coordination. At Rolls-Royce I worked with Merchant Deck Machineries and while the job title was Contract Manager, in practice the job was more of a Project Managers and the responsibility for the project, from receiving the contract or order, to the end of the warranty period. With control and overview of design, purchase, production, deliveries, change requests, quality and financials. My customer shipyards were first mostly in Asia, particularly in South Korea, but also in China, Vietnam and Indonesia. In the latter years my customers were mostly European shipyards. Rolls-Royce’s production sites for the deck machineries were in Poland, Shanghai and Pusan in South Korea. So, I also have a lot of old friends and connections, especially in Pusan. On top of my day to day work as a Contract Manager, I also performed some start-up works at European Customers. I was also very successfully responsible for educating, training, coaching and supporting our Korean and Chinese employees to grow and become Contract Managers for their own region. I have been renewing and developing Rolls-Royce’s Technical Customer Documentations. I have also had training for Six Sigma Green Belt and I had Rolls- Royce’s own course for management training. I also acted as a deputy to my supervisor. It is not only in my working life, that I have a history with different cultures and countries, for as a teenager I lived for two years in Libya, when my father worked there at the time. So I am also somewhat familiar with Arabic cultures. With Asia and Asian cultures, I became familiar while working for Rolls-Royce. During my times, with Rolls-Royce and previously working for PPG-Becker, an automotive paint producer and supplier, I have also had numerous assignments around Europe, where I have had customers in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Romania, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the UK. While working for Kaksoisputki Oy, my most challenging jobs were to design the sprinkler systems for Sello in Vantaa and Kamppi in Helsinki. Mostly at the same time and resulting in material and assembly costs, well below the estimated. Both of these are one of Finlands biggest shopping centers and at the time, they were amongst the largest construction sites. I am also more than comfortable with modern information technology and commonly used programs, to the extent that I am even capable, amongst other things, of creating small applications with Visual Basic, inside the MS-Office environment and especially MS Excel. I do honestly believe that I would have more than a lot to offer for your company. I would naturally, also be most happy to answer and provide any further details You may require and I may add that I am ready to start immediately. As I am single and living alone, I am also free and ready to relocate or travel, as much as necessary or needed. I am also interested in working abroad. If however I would not be the person of your choice this time, I would be glad to be taken into consideration in any of your future recruitments. Sincerely,
Pauli Ahjokivi
