PROJECTS

Childhood Autism Treatment Team — Volunteer for “Night of Respite”

During my time volunteering with CHATT, I worked with children who had Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down Syndrome. Night of Respite was an event held by CHATT, designed to give the family and parents of those children some time to themselves while simultaneously giving their children a chance to socialize with not only children like themselves but also meet other “neuro-typical” individuals who understood and were ready to greet and provide aid to their unique and personal needs. It provided a safe space for the children to have fun, learn, and grow as well as a night of relaxation for the families. Child Care — Babysitter for Local Families

As a babysitter, I gained experience working with

children of all different ages. I often would

babysit over extended periods of time such as a

weekend while the parents were out of town. I

learned a lot about patience

and conflict resolution.
