operation and projects experience. Leadership and
Training for the operators. I became Superintendent and ran the Polypropylene plant with no problems with safety and environment and best production rates.
A lot of field experience (10+ years) with
Incinerators and Waste Heat Boilers. Plus Water
Treatment from the pumping systems to move water from the River to the Clarifier and Sand Filters, plus the water softeners, piping, valves to ensure hardness in the water was Zero for Boilers to produce steam. I am familiar with all the chemicals to ensure Zero water hardness at the boilers, experience with boilers’
operation, plus pumps, compressors, and other
mechanical devices.
Experience to mentor small and big teams.
Took care of internal and customer Project Kick-off Meetings for all my projects.
Know how read any blueprints & Piping and electrical& Mechanical drawings, and how to make new or changes on P&IDs.
Good trouble shooter and attention to detail, plus find solutions for any problems at any equipment, as boilers, pumps, incinerators, etc.
Very familiar with PHA (Process Hazards
Analysis),PSSR( Pre Start-up Safety Review)
Expertise in developing new drawings or changes.
Familiar with Excel, Microsoft Project, Quality
Assurance, Quality Management System.

2018 to Present – not enough work at this time.
• Calculated total installed costs and Fabrication of 6 new tanks for Evoqua. THESE TANKS WERE 48", 54"AND 70" diam. X 5ft. - 6 ft. High. They were 2- ANION Tanks & 2- CATION tanks, plus 2- MIX Tanks to improve water to the process. Installed them on the Trailer bed to use them as a mobile Water Cleaning Unit.
• In charge of fabrication of new tube & shell heat exchangers, based on design drawings. In charge of shell fabrication and installation of the tubes and expansion of tube bundles at tube heads. Assembly and welding of the tube bundle and the shell. After that, took care of the hydro test for the heat exchangers, based on pressure test design. Checked for leaks and repair as necessary, specially around the tubes’ perforated flanges.
• Estimating total installed Cost for different Projects at different Organizations. An example is at Polynt: We fabricated and installed new piping, new pumping system for a new chemical to improve reactor operation.
• Organization of the shop, to make it more efficient. Also, help on organizing the new material leftovers, so we can utilize them on other projects and save money for the company.
Field Reliability Construction
Engineer
Contractor Engineer at Lyondell Bassell HDPE,LLDPE Plants. 2015 -2018
• Responsible for the equipment reliability installed on the field such as piping (ensure pipe spec, supports, etc.), and all the mechanical parts of this project as: process compressor, Pumps, new instrumentation (as control valves, level, flow, & pressure transmitters, switches, etc.). Distillation columns, Tanks, heaters, cooling towers, boilers, air compressors, etc. Ensure the foundations for tanks, compressors, columns, etc. are done as per design. Involved from the beginning of the project on making changes on P&ID's or any drawing associated with the project involved.
• I designed new catalyst system for HDPE reactors. Also involved on a all flushing systems to inject the catalyst easier and avoid catalyst feeding problems.
• Involved during the Procurement, commissioning and start-up of the new VENT GAS RECOVERY UNIT, New compressor, new lube oil and chill Water system for that compressor & a new distillation Column to strip C3. Working with vendors to select the best Equipment and reviewing and approving vendor drawings. I reviewed all the P&IDs for these processes and made some changes to make the system safer. I was in charge of reviewing all the Documentation and drawings from all the vendors. Reviewed the Stream tables and Energy Balances for this project and ensure all the streams were correct. Also check proper Pressure and temperatures and flow rates for the entire system. Plus all the instrumentation needed for this project - I approved all the data sheets for all the instrumentation.
Also, created and updated files to collect all the data for this project and have available for everybody on the team.
• Completed all the PSRRs for each section of the above unit, so we can start the unit. Worked with Operations to start up and fill the system. Also, audit all the aspects of all the above projects. Ensure all the safety items were included, also ensure the liability was done before we started any project. Also involved in the bill of materials that were needed for the projects. Ensure and audit all the materials to ensure were according to the specifications of the projects.
Have expertise to provide all the Environmental/ Safety/ and liability support and ensure to comply with All the Environmental auditing. By assisting with day to day auditing and ensure nothing goes out of control. Keep a good communication with the team to ensure no deviation from the original scope of work.
Also, I am good to train my people and also operations. Plus have the training material available and coordinate training for operations, plus I can make changes on the operations procedures to ensure that the start-up of the new system will be safe and according to the initial plan. Project Engineer
At Burrow Global Engineering
2013- 2015
Designed and installed new acid pumping system to control the PH of the cooling tower. This system save money, by reducing the feed of the corrosion inhibitor. This was at the Texas Petrochemicals in Pasadena, TX At ENTERPRISES PRODUCTS. Process Engineer. Improved the propylene leaks to flare. It saved at least 1 million dollars per year. President
REQUENA ENTERPRISES
2009- 2012
After I retired from TOTAL in Dec. 2008, I started my own business, but the economy in USA and Mexico, plus the death of my partner (My brother) in Mexico, slow down the business and I looked for another opportunities.
. Responsible to do piping and tanks repairs during Turnarounds at Dixie Chemicals (Cost = $100,000), Agrifos ($1 Million), Optim Energy- Altura Cogen
($ 200,000). Monitor the progress of repairs and ensure completion of work in the window of opportunity.
Consulting with some Houston construction companies. I was in charge in defining the scope of work. Made the total installed cost (TIC) TOTAL Petrochemicals, Fina Oil and Company. ARCO CHEMICALS. 1976 to 2008
Process Chemical Engineer, Plant Superintendent. Sr. Advisor Engineer Worked for almost 30 years for the same company, until, I retired. This company changed names as shown above.
I made a lot improvements on the process to improve quality, production, Safety and Quality, the pellet cut was bad with the existing Hot water pelletizers. Replaced 4 pelletizers with new underwater Pelletizer. No more over size pellets, and better pellet cut.
Improved Incinerator on Stream factor from 70 % to 95% by improving waste heat boiler operation, and designed new nozzles to improve waste liquid sprays.
As Superintendent, I was in charge of operating 4 units to make polypropylene pellets at the best rates and quality.
Improved steam boiler operations by installing new control systems. I was involved with the plant expansion during the installation of Train 7, 8, 9 to make more polypropylene Pellets.
