I am a dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic professional with twelve years of experience as an LPN. Two of those years were in Occupational Health, and eight were in rehabilitation and residential home nursing care. I have sixteen years of experience in the medical field, serving in several occupational positions and providing care and support to patients in various facilities. Worked independently and proficiently to manage the onsite medical clinic, ensuring the overall safety and well-being of all employees in a large manufacturing plant that produces motor graders. Providing compassionate care to all served as the first line of care to injured employees. Made on-the-spot assessments in emergencies to curtail workers' compensation expenses and lost time by providing timely emergency care. We achieved 376 days without recordable or lost time during my employment.

Ordered all supplies for the medical clinic. Documented all records associated with workplace injuries or illnesses, including Workers Compensation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. I was required to complete the necessary learning classes and attend continuing education classes monthly, receiving CME credit from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria via WebEx and teleconference. Additionally, random and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol screenings were conducted by DOT regulations and Caterpillar policies.

Provided compassionate care, promoted a wellness campaign, and prioritized the overall health and safety of employees. Created wellness boards to promote corporate medical wellness campaigns and scheduled wellness exams with the company physician for employees, following assessments and venipuncture procedures. Scheduled the flu clinic and administered flu vaccines via IM injection. Proactively monitor the workplace for any potential hazards or threats to worker safety. Accurately record all automated external defibrillator checks, wellness exams, incident reports, short-term disability leave, and absences, including nurses’ notes, in a Medgate database.

Assessed the need and administered Tetanus Toxoid, Reduced Diphtheria Toxoid, and Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) vaccinations, as well as Hepatitis B vaccinations, when necessary to employees.

I provided one-on-one attention to injured workers. If an employee is on medical leave, I call to check on their condition for our disability coordinator. I keep communication open about their return to work and ensure they have a doctor’s note if they have a chronic condition. I identified risks, offered education, and encouraged treatment compliance. As the occupational health nurse, I created personalized Care Plans with goals and actions to support patients based on their doctor’s recommendations. My goal was to help patients receive the best possible care while returning them to their original positions without any work restrictions or modifications.
