Cell Site Technician, 01/2004 – 04/2006
Sprint PCS San Francisco, CA
The San Francisco Market covered from Palo Alto to Novato (300+ wireless sites, Lucent Modcell 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 full versions and compacts V.1 and V.2). I was the lead Night Technician whose responsibilities included troubleshooting and correcting many different service effecting problems, performing scheduled maintenance tasks, and ensuring that all applicable modifications are performed. I have completed carrier reductions and additions, as well as 1xEV-DO installations on all Modcell versions and the upgrades (URCm controllers and CBR upgrades) necessary to use 1xEVDO on Sprints network. Since my career at Lucent I have expanded my knowledge in the wireless field. I am now proficient at running coax and connectorizing mainlines as well as jumpers, sweeping cables to find defects i.e. return loss and Distance to fault testing. I have also learned how to use remote User Interfaces via Sprint’s air card such as Control and Display pages, Craft Shell, and Recent-Change-Verify. I can provide a high level of proficiency for performing new options in the Remote Maintenance Terminal (RMT). For example Mod 4.0 offline and online power calibrations, configuring CSU/ATM parameters as well as configuring designated CDM’s for 1xEV-DO. I have the necessary skills in order to troubleshoot T-1 problems utilizing a T-Bird and Sprint’s remote monitoring software REACT. I can run significant projects to completion with little or no direct supervision such as observing 200+ Mini cell to Modcell 4.0 conversions. Promoted to Senior level technician 8/2005
