Business Development Venture Capital

Hello, my name is Dario Minatta. I would like to express my interest in the position being offered. I have detailed analytical skills, accounting experience and a passion for business development. My latest experience within the Venture Capital industry, combined with my studies and degree in accounting has prepared me for the unique attributes this role requires. As of March 2025 I. am CPA eligible and will begin studying for the exam to become a Certified Public Accountant.

I would like to explain the gap in my education and work experience. During this time, while I was a student at University Nevada, Reno in 2014, I was in a snowboarding accident that left me completely paralyzed from the chest down. Adapting to this new way of life was not only a physical challenge but also an evolving mental test. This resulted in several months at hospitals, different physical therapies and now I am living with my family back in my hometown of Sonoma. I did not let my accident stop me from continuing my education. I attended the Santa Rosa Junior college then continued to Sonoma State for my upper division courses. I acquired my Bachelors degree in Business Accounting of May 2022 from Sonoma State University where I proudly wheeled across that stage.

Since then I have been an Associate at Frank, Rimerman + Co LLP in the Venture Capital department. I have learned and grown within the firm and industry, I discovered a passion for myself surrounding the Venture Capital market and I grew experienced around investment valuations, limited partner contributions of capital & allocations, management fees, all within VC Funds, Fund of funds and SPV’s. My main clients during my time at the firm were but are not limited to; Allocate Ventures(36 funds), Haystack Ventures(4 funds), 1517 Capital (4 funds), Abstract Ventures(8 funds). Acknowledged as an associate at the firm, my main focus was analyzing the quarterly financial reports for these clients, as well as the contributed capital amongst each clients limited partners. Confirming the financials followed GAAP guidelines and assuring any material misstatements were properly accounted for was a major relationship I held with each client, guaranteeing an accurately presented relationship during each audit.

I have high aspirations for my career in accounting and I am certain I will excel with the knowledge I gained from my education, the experience I acquired from my previous jobs, and my unwavering determination to get the job done. I do not let any obstacles stand in my way. There is certainly more to learn, more problems to solve, and more to build - for this I am very thankful. My overall experience has shaped me into the man I am today. Maintaining an education and work ethic during this hardship has inspired my confident and optimistic nature. Hard working, enthusiastic and driven are a few characteristics my past employers have used to describe me.
