Personal Profile:

I have recently completed a Level 5 TEFL qualification alongside having a master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Lancaster University and an Accounting and Finance degree with a 2:1 from the University of Portsmouth. I have excellent communication skills, I am hardworking, ambitious and keen to utilise the skills I have attained from my TEFL qualification. I am a native English speaker and am looking for a role as an English teacher.

Education & Qualifications:

230-Hour Level 5 TEFL Course Diploma (2025)

I have completed a TEFL Level 5 Diploma that was regulated by Ofqual, which has prepared me to start teaching English. The course included a total of 200 hours of self-paced online training where I learnt to communicate complicated language rules to a student audience, learnt the basics of how to teach students remotely and how to organize and teach effectively when dealing with a large classroom. The course also taught me about the importance of classroom management, the different teaching styles that can be implemented and how to use classroom and non-classroom resources effectively.

The TEFL Diploma also included a 30-hour practical classroom course where I used what I had learnt to give practice English lessons to audiences of different age range and skill level in English. Comprehensive feedback was given after the practical part of the course to help improve and perfect skills learnt whilst on the course.

Lancaster University (2022-2023)

MSC Accounting and Financial Management

The degree balanced theory with applied learning, using practical working examples to enhance skills alongside learning and understanding principles of financial reporting and the foundations of finance. Other subjects studied on the degree included Advanced Corporate Finance, Management Accounting and Quantitative methods for Accounting.

The degree also included writing a detailed 11,000-word dissertation. Key skills gained include:

Critiquing key theoretical and empirical research papers relating to accounting-based valuation.

Using FactSet for collecting data resources and using statistical methods.

Using Stata to design large-scale empirical tests that compare the performance of alternative valuation models.

University of Portsmouth (2017 - 2020)

BA 2:1 (Honours) Accounting with Finance

The degree provided coverage of key areas in accounting and finance including Management Accounting, Financial Reporting, Toolbox for Accounting Professionals (including Microsoft Office and Sage accounting software), Audit, Taxation, Financial Management, Economics for Accountancy, Business Law for Accountants, Quantitative Methods for Accountants, Personal Finance and Critical Issues in Accounting and Finance (including corporate governance and ethics).

Year 3 included a detailed Independent Study Project and Professional Accounting Practice which included an opportunity to work with a local business on a practical accounting project. Skills gained include:

Good written and verbal communication skills gained through essays, report writing and PowerPoint presentations to university staff and other students.

Solid teamwork and time-management skills through coursework assignments typically involving groups of up to five people.

Ability to research and analyse subject matter and draw relevant conclusions.

Hampshire Cultural Trust – (October 2019 - March 2020)

With one other team-member, I undertook a review of income processing at two of the Trust’s sites to assess accounting and business practices and controls, from which a report was produced containing our assessment and recommendations for the Board of Trustees and management. This improved my analysis and problem-solving skills.

An opportunity to apply the knowledge I gained from my course to a real-life situation, including meeting staff to gain an understanding of the business and key processes, improved communication skills and producing a high-quality report for an external audience.

Sports Direct – Customer Assistant - (July 2018 - September 2018)

Developed good customer service and interpersonal skills through working on the shopfloor, ensuring a good customer experience in the shop through a patient, polite and knowledgeable approach.

Learned to work within a busy pressured environment while maintaining the best possible service.

Hayes Library - (July and August 2017) – Voluntary work

Helped with the summer reading programme for young children, asking them questions on the books they had read and helping them read more advanced books and words, demonstrating patience and creating a supportive atmosphere.

Dealing with customer enquiries on rental times about books and DVD’s. Giving customers detailed, friendly and polite service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Assisted library staff by putting books back on their relevant shelves and cleaning shelves when they were dirty. Ensuring a clean and organised environment to work in the library.

Interests, Hobbies and Other:

I like to keep fit and do this by playing 5, 7 or 11-a-side football with friends alongside regularly attending the Gym. I also enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures. I have visited several countries in Asia and Europe and hope to see many more in the future.

I was born in Hong Kong and I have a Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card. As such I do not require a working visa to live and work in Hong Kong.
