Lady Willingdon teaching hospital is attached to the Kind Edward Medical College. It is a 250-bed hospital and the department head is professor A. Wasim Yousaf, I was undertaking master’s degree programme at the Teaching Hospital of Kind Edward Medical College. Masters Degree Programme is part of my attempt of equipping myself in family reproductive medicine.

There are 20,000 admissions, 8,000 deliveries 6,500 major, 14300 minor operative procedures performed annually. The outpatient of hospital caters for a large number of patients.

Training recognized by RCOG & CPSP. The hospital has got busy outpatients and emergency department with a 1.3 duty rota. I performed all minor and most of the major surgical producers. I had done more than 1000.

This hospital served a rural population of two hundred thousand. Before that, I worked in Government Tuberculosis & Chest Disease Hospital, Murree, which is a 300-bed hospital. This was a specialist centre for chest diseases. TB is increasingly prevalent in these areas. I ran the well baby clinic, vaccination clinics, diabetes, hypertension and antenatal clinics. Over 150 patients presented to the hospital and I was responsible for supervising their treatment. This was a drop in hospital without any appointment system. I ran screening clinics for psychiatric / Medical patients and referred all serious cases to tertiary care.
