2023-2024 Counseling Internship at Lubbock Juvenile Justice Center. Counseled residents and completed all case notes and paperwork as necessary. Administered and scored assessments. Group therapy co-counsel for felony criminals, substance addicts and sexual offenders in long-term residency.
2021-2022 Post COVID19, employed at Harmony Science Academy as a SPED district administrator for Lubbock and El Paso. Harmony Science Academy-Lubbock population of approximately 600 students grades PK-8. Responsibilities for Lubbock campus included school psychologist, school counselor for general education and special education students, diagnostician duties and teaching Social Emotional Learning (SEL) classes to junior high students. District duties included assessing and report writing for Lubbock and multiple El Paso PK-High School campuses to ensure maintenance of federal compliance standards in keeping with SPED regulations.
2016 – 2020 Employed at Triumph Public High School Lubbock as Special Education Director. Responsible for all ARDS, assessments, interviews, and psychological reports for the school population along with writing behavior intervention plans, transition paperwork and completing special education PEIMS reporting. Counsel special education students according to IEP plans. Consult with teachers on lesson plans, classroom accommodations, and behavior modifications. Conduct 504 assessments, meetings and record keeping. Test ESL students for LPAC records and administer the TSI for dual credit course students. Organized campus annual Career and Job Fair. Responsible for maintaining all student SPED Files and complying with all Federal and state regulations and timelines. Torchbearer Committee member for the Re-branding of South Plains Academy, Campus Leadership Committee member and Campus Improvement Plan Committee member. During my employment at Triumph, I piloted the Special Education Department from serving 11 students and increasing enrollment to serving over 25 percent of the campus population. SPED student population for Triumph is now diversified with inclusive services to AU, VI, ID, SL, AI as well as SLD. Under my direction, Triumph was one of the first campuses in Texas to successfully participate in the cyclical TEA SPED monitoring under the new Corrective Action Plan (CAP). 1998- 2012 Four County SSA and Brownfield ISD diagnostician and campus coordinator for over 210 special education meetings annually. Verified all legal requirements were met for meetings. Autism team member. Diagnostician responsible for all initial and re-evaluation assessments for three campuses, including two self-contained classrooms. Worked collaboratively with assessment teams in the evaluation of students referred for special education services. Managed all ECI/DEBT transitions into PPCD classroom. Responsible for all special education paperwork, discipline plans, transition plans and additional reports as necessary.
