2020 – 2024 : GKN Aerospace HSE Site Advisor.
Develop, lead and promote a positive health,
safety and environmental culture in the work place.
Make sure all health, safety and environmental policy guidelines
are followed and kept up to date as needed. Perform safety training
for newly hired employees and foster ongoing safety training as
needed due to any changes in the operations. Take care of risk
assessments and site inspections and to identify potential
hazardous conditions and solutions to mitigate future occurrences. also police the site to make sure safe operational practices are being followed in order to minimize the risk of workplace accidents. Investigate incidents, complaints and recurrent health cases to identify and provide solutions to help resolve any issues. Inspect work machinery and equipment to ensure safety guards, procedures and conditions are being adhered to. Maintain accurate records of incidents and inspections and prepare reports as needed for documentation of waste, electricity, water and gas usage. I also prepare reports for air emissions, OSHA 300 log and various other operational certifications needed by the site to remain compliant.
2017 – 2020: Briggs & Stratton, Manufacturing Supervisor.
Oversee the daily operations of the ferrous machining department that
uses CNC machinery and robotics to manufacture crankshafts and flywheels for the V-twin engine assembly. Supervise a staff of 15 operators and technicians and monitor quality, output and employee safety. Also work with cost reduction and process improvement teams to help improve system efficiencies.
2017-2017: JABIL, Senior Manufacturing Supervisor. Injection molding facility. Duties include personnel scheduling, employee training, monitoring machine output and efficiencies and making sure quality standards are adhered to. Monitor safety and keep accurate employee records and data entry while effectively communicating with related groups on any conditions that may need specific attention.
2015-2017: HSAA Automotive, Safety Specialist. Directly handle all new hire safety orientation and basic ongoing machine safety training for the entire facility. Responsible for all fire extinguisher and sprinkler systems and safety of machine conditions. Hold scheduled safety training for employees on various systems as well as coordinate employee emergency evacuation procedures. Handled all fork lift training plus keep accurate and current records on driver performance and maintenance. Keep current all SDS and update as needed. Make sure all employee injury information is filled out and forwarded to the State of Alabama in accordance with workers compensation laws in a timely fashion and interact with them on any issues that might arise. Handle all first aid and bio hazard related issues and supplies needed for the entire facility and make sure supplies are stocked and appropriate personnel are trained accordingly. Work with maintenance in keeping all machine guards and machine related safety equipment in a good state of repair as required. Collected storm water and oversaw it analyzed as required by the ADEM as well being responsible for the safe handling and scheduling of the pickup of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Responsible for helping keep the entire facility OHSA compliant.
2012 to 2014 Globe Motors, Manufacturing Supervisor.
Manufactured fractional horsepower electric motors for military defense systems – ITAR rated facility. Duties included managing daily production schedules and placing personnel to assigned work stations and monitor output, safety and quality. Worked with engineering on various process improvement ideas and other system upgrades. Other duties included keeping accurate employee records and effectively communicate with upper management on any issues and making sure company policies are adhered to. Helped conduct interviews in the hiring process of potential employees.
2008 to 2012 Bremner Food Group, Production Supervisor.
Supervised daily production requirements needed to meet scheduled
orders. This included scheduling production, effectively managing
personnel to accomplish production goals, making sure all company policies were adhered to as well as holding bi monthly
meetings to discuss safety and production related issues. Other duties included working with engineering on cost improvement projects which resulted in improvements in
operational costs.
2004 to 2008 Swedish Match Cigars, Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities included making sure company policies are adhered to as well as coordinating production personnel and maintaining accurate employee records and scheduling production staffing. Worked with engineering management on the development and implementation of cost reduction programs and worked with vendor accounts that supplied certain materials that were used in sample batch testing of new product development.
2000 to 2004 Accurate Engineering, Assistant Production Manager.
Helped develop and set up efficient process flow for contract engine production and assisted with layout designs necessary to achieve maximum product output with strict adherence to customer quality. Helped develop and maintain cost control measures to maximize profitability. Coordinated with the customer base as to delivery times and logistics for finished goods shipments.
1990 to 2000 Sony Magnetic Products, Production Supervisor.
Coordinated and supervised personnel to ensure optimum product quality and employee safety. Provided effective daily decision making while ensuring employee operational compliance with all company policies. Maintained accurate employee and production records and effectively communicated with all related groups.
1989 to 1990 Sony Magnetic Products, Electro/Mechanical Technician
Maintained and repaired electronic, mechanical and pneumatic components. Assisted Engineering on machine modifications and experimental processes that resulted in increased efficiency. Interacted with engineering during machine/plant outages.
