Employment History
Oldcastle Infrastructure September 2022 – April 2025
Senior Database Architect Full-time, permanent
For newly acquired subsidiary companies, analyze and map the ERP system to the main Snowflake data warehouse. The main thrust was to standardize disparate accounting and manufacturing processes to present a unified, consistent reporting data structure across many subsidiaries.
These acquisition companies used a wide variety of ERP systems, including JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Netsuite, SYSPRO, SAP requiring detailed analysis.
Map out strategies and timelines for each system for the data analysis team for the project manager and upper management.
Coordinate the integration engineers, data architects and data engineers to prioritize the data mapping since we typically had two to four active acquisitions at any given time.
Create complex reporting queries from SAP data as acquisitions were transitioned from their original ERP to the SAP ERP. These included project tracking, cost of goods, sales data, labor hours
Work with the accounting and technical teams for the ERP systems to correctly identify and map the 170+ tables in the central data warehouse in Snowflake.
Verify and validate the data quality during integration, mapping and warehouse loading.
Assist the data quality testing engineers to design tests.
Run the weekly Database Review Board with the data architects to incorporate data DDL changes to the warehouse. Create and enforce processes to correctly make changes with proper documentation.
Spearhead the data dictionary/business description metadata project, including adding the definitions to the SQLDBM model
Evolve Mortgage Services April 2018 – August 2022
Senior Database Architect Full-time, permanent
Create the strategy and implementation to refactor the main mission critical databases to bring them up to industry and ANSI standards for normalization. This is part of a major overhaul of the systems to be able to migrate the website code from the old classic ASP to a .NET and Entity Framework environment. Analyze current system and create logical data models, working with the business to validate those models, and coordinating with the development team to have a common understanding of the data entities.
Architect and design the loan grading process to acquire Standard & Poor’s accreditation, including grading for other major loan grading companies such as Moody’s, Fitch and Kroll.
Design and maintain ETL processes for the data reporting warehouse.
Architect and design the data import process to consume loan information from a wide variety of sources such as Fannie Mae’s Encompass and private companies’ proprietary formats in Excel and XML. This involved several ETL data transformation processes to perform third party review of loans to guarantee accuracy and completeness of loan data for resale. Accuracy of data is crucial so as not to incur liability for errors and omissions.
Research, architect, and design new databases for core business processes, such as eRegistry and eVault programs that served as legal registrations for mortgages.
Manage a database development team of four people
Ensure data integrity and security and apply standards across a variety of environments.
Lead the design meetings with business and technical people. Document current data, areas of improvement, deprecated columns, deconstructing current data, mapping to new system, Lead meetings to develop logical design with business and technical leaders.
Work with product owners, business and system analysts, and technical leads to create data processes for importing and exporting data. Work with disparate data sources such as text, Excel spreadsheets, MySql.
Manager for four mid-level developers.
Willis Towers Watson April 2016 – March 2018
Senior Database Architect Full-time, contract
Document current database structure for future development needs and to identify areas of improvement.
Create data import jobs to automate and streamline existing manual or semi-automated processes. Added more sophisticated error trapping and reporting.
Meet with business subject matter experts and product owners to translate the business strategies into concrete data and reporting requirements.
Determine and draw logical diagrams of the business relationships in the data and write the physical database structures in coordination with the software team.
Streamline language translation data used for globally distributed software. Every element of the application needed to be able to support ten or more languages.
Design flexible database structures for the executive compensation software to allow for multiple disparate regional data to be efficiently and accurately stored for reporting.
Reed Group January 2015 – April 2016
Database Architect / Manager Full-time, permanent
Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) work, including design for extending the structure, upgrading the process for better efficiency, training end users of the EDW, maintain design documents and data dictionaries.
Maintain and upgrade the ETL projects to load the data warehouse.
Create reports and data feeds for clients, including writing complex SQL code, for daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly reporting needs, using T-SQL, SSIS/ETL, SSRS and SSAS technologies.
Import data via Amazon S3 services, Oracle, and Azure databases.
Maintain and monitor SQL Agent jobs for internal and external clients.
Work and coordinate with a wide array of groups within the organization, such as Technical Operations, DBA Group, web developers, call center management and auditors, Operations, etc. Develop and design improved systems for their groups.
Managing and upgrading the internal QA Audit Tool for the Call Center to monitor client calls for review, and report on contractual performance guarantees.
Started the automated testing council to research and recommend a roadmap for implementing an automated testing strategy into the current manual testing environment.
Manage two database developers and provide training and mentoring.
Weyerhaeuser May 2005 – April 2010, March 2012 – December 2014

Drive the efforts to improve customer experiences by analyzing and streamlining database design, removing defects and performance bottlenecks.
Design and maintain the ETL processes to move data from the main data warehouse to data marts for use by various applications.
Plan, develop and manage the creation of the centralized database to house all product and engineering data needed for software development. Major milestones included the vision document, logical data model, physical database development in SQL Server, and final data migration from multiple existing data sources via SQL Server Integration Services. Reduced time to market for data changes from weeks/months to days.
Analyze, design, and populate application databases for state-of-the-art civil engineering programs using engineered wood products utilized in residential and light commercial construction. Generate the application databases from the centralized database by employing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Automated database generation which removed major roadblocks in the release cycle.
