• Complies with all provincial long term care regulations and established Food Services department policies and procedures.
• Assists in maintaining the Food Services department in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Serves meals and beverages, following Residents’ diets and food preferences, using correct portion sizes. Knowledge of therapeutic diets.
• Assists in receiving and storing incoming food and supplies.
• Assists in monitoring quality of food and supplies received and advises Nutrition Manager of problems.
• Reports food, supply, and equipment needs to Nutrition Manager.
• Follows proper food handling techniques and infection control practices.
• Dates, labels, and stores food properly.
• Completes pre-start up equipment checks as necessary.
• Keeps work area clean and uncluttered, and completes scheduled cleaning duties.
